The glowing phenomenon you have never seen, there is only one high -paste photo mysteriously

On the night of August 2, 2019, the private yacht "Elephant God" sailed into a glowing sea on the south of Java Island, Indonesia.

Everything came very suddenly. When the crew returned, they were already on the broad light. The entire sea area exudes uniform and soft light, extending to the junction of the distant water and sky, as if it has become a snow. Different from the snow, the light with a faint blue -green tone, the color and brightness will remind people of the luminous sticker that lights up after the light is turned off.

Is that the reflection of the moonlight? No, there is no moon in the dark night sky at all — is the sea glowing?

The puzzled crew took a picture of the scene with his mobile phone. They put a bucket of seawater, and the light was still bright in the bucket, but suddenly went out after stirring.

At this point, they haven't realized how lucky they are -they encountered the most mysterious marine glowing phenomenon and took the first photo of the history.

Quiet Sea

It wasn't until 2021 two years later that the crew finally knew what they saw that night -it was a biological glowing phenomenon called "Milky Sea".

The history of humans and "milk sea" is not short. For centuries, legends have been circulating among sailors. However, its frequency of occurrence is indeed very low: it is estimated that only 0-2 times the world will occur around the world each year. According to previous witnesses, this phenomenon appears in the northwestern Indian Ocean, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Lighting sometimes lasts for several days, and sometimes it will last more than a month.

On the coast, people can sometimes observe another glowing phenomenon called "blue tears", which is more common than "milk sea". There are many differences between these two glowing phenomena: "Blue Tears" usually light up only when the seawater is disturbed, and it is produced by supotamores such as met herbal algae and seafield; Glowing, if it is disturbed, the light will go out.

Precious testimony

Due to extremely difficult to meet, there are very few scientific research on "milk sea". Prior to this, scientific vessels had only encountered "milk sea" once, and a preliminary analysis of the glowing seawater was conducted. This study believes that "milk sea" may be caused by glowing bacteria named vibrio Harveyi: this bacteria perceive each other through chemical signals, and trigger synchronous glow when individual density is high enough.

At the same time, researchers are trying to use the satellites in the sky to find it. Through the micr -ray sensor on the satellite, atmospheric scientist Steven D. Miller discovered a suspected "milk sea" phenomenon that happened in the summer of 2019.

Satellite images show that this is a large -scale glowing phenomenon. It stretches 100,000 square kilometers, which has continued from the end of July to the beginning of September -unfortunately, they could not verify it on the spot.

But now, lucky witnesses have appeared. Through news reports, the crew of the "Elephant Head" found that his adventure was exactly in line with the time and place of the satellite observation results. They contacted researchers and provided precious photos and witness testimony.

In addition to the phenomenon that has been mentioned above, the captain Lemmens also provides a very interesting supplementary clue: the glow they see is located about 10 meters deep below the water, and the researchers' past speculation was that bacteria floated on the surface of the sea water. This is the point. This is the point. It seems to be contrary to actual observation.

Why does this phenomenon always happen to the Indian Ocean? What does bacteria make such a large -scale collaborative glow? What does this mean for their survival? There are still many questions about "milk sea". There are still many answers.

However, Miller is full of confidence in the future. Witnesses confirm the accuracy of satellite observation, so when he finds mysterious glowing from the satellite map next time, he can send a boat to the field sampling. Through this method, people will be able to expose the secrets of Guanghai.

At that time, Miller may also realize his personal desire: jump into the "milk sea" and sneak into the most mysterious light of the ocean.
