Xiao Fuxing

"Red Face" is a children's novel I wrote in 2015 seven years ago, and my first children's novel. Before that, I never thought of writing children's novels, although I grew up under the influence and nourishment of children's literature since childhood, and started my original writing. In my heart, children's literature is the most advanced style in all literary creation; children's novels are difficult to write than adult novels; can write adult novels, no children can write good children's novels.

Previously, my good friend Zhao Lihong published his first child's novel "Childhood River". He wrote his own childhood experience. I thought it was well written and was moved after reading. Zhao Lihong said to me that you should write one too. Even if he said that, I didn't want to write. For two consecutive years, he has been urging me to write time, and he seems to be able to write it better than me. The power of friendship is warm and incredible. It can be said that "Red Face" was written under his supervision and encouragement. This novel has my childhood feelings and my friendship with him for many years.

I started to recall my childhood and think about what to write. It is a bit meaningful to write; at the same time, for me for the first time, it is easy to write a little bit, and write a little bit. Just write yourself and write your most memorable and deepest experience. This should be the most common and easy way for children's literary creation.

I think of a child named Dahua in my childhood courtyard. In the discussion of adults who sparkle and stop, many children know that Dahua is the secret of illegitimate children. I don't know when he himself knows this cruel reality. He always lived with his aunt, and Guan Xiao called his mother. His aunt was very powerful, with a scarlet eye -catching mole on his face, seeing a bit scary. We usually hide from her. (In the novel, I transplant this red mole on Dahua's face.)

Dahua is a few years older than me, and has a lonely personality. He doesn't play with me often, and doesn't play with other children. It stands to reason that we should not have any contradictions. I have a younger brother. I remember that he hadn't went to elementary school at that time. One day, he fought with Dahua in the courtyard. When I heard the news, I went to persuade the fight, but I realized that my brother and other children talked about Dahua as an illegitimate child. It just made Dahua hear that Dahua was angry and said in a loud voice: "Who do you say illegitimate children?" , Push my brother down. My brother is not a fuel -saving lamp. He got up from the ground and yelled: "You are! You are illegitimate children! Are you your aunt your mother? You care about her mother?" My brother yelled, "Your mother is still a stepmother! You care about your stepmother called mom!" I heard it, and immediately moved forward to Dahua. Dahua's words stabbed my brother's heart and stabbed my heart. After our biological mother died, my father did bring us a stepmother from his hometown to take care of us to grow up.

My brother and Dahua and Dahua's experience from fighting to harmony to the end of Dahua returned to Shanxi's father is my most memorable childhood memory. Many years ago, I wrote a thousand -word prose "Recalling Qin'e", which specifically recorded this experience. But because of space, this prose is written simpler, and it is not fully expanded. When I wrote "Red Face", I felt that my childhood was a rare wealth ... I and Dahua, one is a child with a big stepmother, the other is a child with a big aunt, our experience is similar. On the way to grow, especially in childhood and adolescence, in the lack of affection and search, the sweet and bitterness we tasted is different from children of other families. Our heart, the pain like cicada molting, engraved into the bone marrow. However, adults sometimes do not notice it, or they feel that it is just pediatrics.

When I thought of it, I had some confidence in my heart. Children's pain requires the help of elders; the growth of children requires elders to support guidance. But sometimes the child's own redemption is needed. This kind of redemption, from the mutual understanding and friendship between children. This power is enough to disappear the humiliated red mole on Dahua's face.

The process of writing is to keep recalling and constantly chewing and constantly reflecting on this experience. I remind myself not to write novels like pure water, do not write life as fairy tales. Good children's literature has always been growth literature. The growth of a child is inseparable from the three environments: small environment, sub -environment and environment. The small environment is family, the sub -environment is a school, and the environment is society and the era. I don't like the kind of children's literature with a small dazzling cup of water, and the reality of being separated from the growth of children. All the experiences of children's growth and the advantages and disadvantages of the adult world at that time are related to the age of the child. Good children's literature will never be separated from society and the times. If children's literature is written as a sweet lollipop, it will be a bit small, and the child's growth process will be simplified.

Chekhov's "Thousand Cards" did not peel off the era of Russian serfs; Walter Benjamin's "Humpback villain" showed the gloomy age of Berlin around 1900. But this society and the times do not let the novels fall into it, let the adult world excessively invade the childhood world (so it is easy to adults children's literature); it is just a background of novel existence, which infiltrate the child's heart and affects the child's personality growth. Apply a lingering background for the child's heart. All of this, with the unique weak but innocent contrast and reflection of childhood, under the refraction and filtering of children's eyes and hearts, it will show the unique charm of children's literature. The story of "Red Face" occurred in old Beijing in the early 1950s. The folds of historical changes, the gloom of life and the sorrow and joy of life are undoubtedly an experience for children; for novels, it is another hidden character that stirred the water. During the writing of "Red Face", the direction of several little protagonists in the novel has undergone some changes. This makes me feel that children's novels are more complicated and more interesting than first imagined. Children's literature is for children, but its writers are adults. Therefore, even if the content and perspective of writing are children, they cannot be separated from the potential hope of adults.

Good children's literature, children should love to watch, adults also love to watch. Good children's literature is a small but eye -catching road sign that corresponds to the adult world. Although the ax is small, you can cut off the big tree. This is the difficulty of children's literature. Although "Red Face" is a bit difficult and unsatisfactory, it reminds me of so much, making me re -ignite my interest and awe of children's literature. Therefore, I would like to thank the old friend Zhao Lihong who was initially encouraged, and the Fujian Children's Publishing House for the first version of the novel.

Now, so many years have passed, and the novel is represented. For the sake of this novel, I would like to thank the president of the Yangtze River Literary and Art Publishing House, Mr. Yin Zhiyong, and Ms. Li Yan. They are also my friends for many years, and I have been encouraged to my writing. Six years after writing "Red Face", last year, I wrote another children's novel "Brothers", published in Changjiang Literature and Art Publishing House. In the plan, I have always wanted to use my own childhood experience as the bottom book, and write it as a child trilogy. I hope I can still be able to make a horse, and then work hard to continue our friendship and prolong my childhood memories.
