The extraction of the Giant Beast 8 of Sanxingdui Pit is 300 catties successfully

On August 24th, archeological excavation and extraction in the sacrifice area of the Sanxingdui site were underway, and a number of cultural relics such as the great god beast were successfully extracted in the 8th pit.This includes one piece of more than 1 meter -long bronze beast, weighing nearly 300 pounds, the most at present.

Cover reporter previously learned that this giant bronze god beast is the same as the "machine dog" found in the previous No. 3 pit, and the size is different.Earlier, there was such a beast such as the newly discovered star cultural relic "Bronze Altar".Perhaps in the eyes of Sanxingdui people, the beast is a very important sacrifice role.

It is understood that at present, the pits of Sanxingdui 3, 4, 5, and 6 have been sealed, and the pits 5 and 6 have entered the laboratory archeology. The No. 7 pit has entered the end of the closing stage.The pit has been extracted nearly 14,000 number of cultural relics.

Sanxingdui Site will end at the end of September, and will be fully shifted from the field to the room to open the restoration, sorting and research work from the field.
