Professor Zhang Zhihong was born in Wanrong County, Shanxi Province in December 1926. From November 1946 to August 1952, he studied in the Department of Foreign Languages ​​and History of Tsinghua University. From August 1952, he worked in the Department of History of Peking University. In 1993 Retired in August. Professor Zhang Zhi Hong dedicated his life to the teaching research and data compilation of modern Chinese history. In terms of teaching, courses such as "History of Modern Chinese History", "History of Modern Chinese Newspaper", "Ancient Chinese History", "Modern History of Chinese History" are popular with students. In terms of research, the author has the author of "Research on the History of the New Democratic Revolution", "International Friends and Anti -Japanese War", "Chinese Modern History Draft", "Chinese Modern Revolutionary Historical Materials" and "Chinese Modern History Materials" and other books. In terms of historical materials, we have compiled the "Foreigners' Dictionary", "Introduction to the Journal of the First Domestic Revolutionary war period", "Research and Data Collection of Modern History in China", "Research on Revolutionary Memoirs and Chinese Modern History".

From 1978 to 1988, Professor Zhang Note Hong was transferred to the scientific research and compilation of the Institute of Modern History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and participated in the writing of the "History of the Chinese New Democratic Revolution".
