Mr. Chen Guying, a well -known Taoist culture scholar, began to enter the field of Laozhuang's research in the mid -1960s. In 1970, he completed the "Lao Tzu's Note and Comment". In many "Lao Tzu" note, "Lao Tzu Introduction and Comment" (also known as "Lao Tzu's Inspective and Today Translation") can be described as a masterpiece. Enter. Since publishing half a century, Mr. Chen Guying has been unremittingly combined with new materials and new ideas for revision. When he was 85 years old in 2020, he also started the popularity and sincerity of the "Lao Tzu and Jiejiejie Jiejie for great enthusiasm and sincerity. "Amendment. The revision lasted for nearly a year, and its results were the "Introduction and Translation Note" published by the People's Literature Press in April this year.

Based on the popularity of the Chinese Studies, the "Introduction and Translation Note", which streamlined the cumbersome citations of the views of scholars in the past, added thoroughly and easy to understand "Guide" and "Appreciation and Comment", and brought together Mr. Chen Gu Ying for more than 60 years of research experience. I have entered the field of Laozhuang research since the mid -1960s. In 1967, the Taiwan Business Press Organization wrote a series of "Ancient Books and Pre -Injectives" series of books. It is also published and published with "Lao Tzu's Note"). This book is the same as the basics based on "Lao Tzu's Note". There are mistakes or simplifications in Wang Ben, and the amendments to the examinations of other ancient or modern scholars.

In 1973, there were two types of "Lao Tzu" in Changsha, Hunan, Hunan. In 1993, three groups of bamboo slips "Lao Tzu" were unearthed in Jingmen Guodian, Hubei, and compiled into a book in 1998 (printed by Beijing Cultural Relics Publishing House). In May of the same year, the University of Da Mousse in the United States held an international seminar, inviting more than 30 old -fashioned experts and archaeologists around the world to discuss the bamboo slips "Lao Tzu" and publish its content in the world. I revised the "Lao Tzu Jin Note Today Translation" three times based on these unearthed literatures.

The unearthed "Lao Tzu" of Guo store not only broke the fallacy that Lao Tzu said late, but also greatly expanded the broad ideological space of Lao Xue. For example, the opening chapters of Guo store "Lao Tzu" said, "Obscene and abandon fraud, people recover filial piety", not the "uniqueness abandoned, and the filial piety of filial piety" in Chapter 19 of "Lao Tzu". The anti -Confucian tendency in "Lao Tzu". Regarding Confucianism and Lao's complementary parties on ethical and religious issues, I made relevant discussions in this version of this revised version.

This book lasted a revision in the past year. It was streamlined on the basis of "Introduction and Comment" (also known as "Lao Tzu's Inspective and Today Translation"). "The understanding of important issues. Prior to this, with the publication of the "New Vision Chinese Classic Library" of the Hong Kong Chinese Book Bureau, I completed the "Introduction and Translation Note" with the assistance of Associate Professor Jiang Limei at Beijing Normal University in 2012. That is the first time I have performed the annotation of "Lao Tzu". This revision is the second draft on the basis of that manuscript. Dr. Miao Yan, a lecturer in North China University of Technology, assisted in the completion. In the future, I plan to complete the revision and popularization of the other books of the "San Xuan and Four Ceremony", namely "Zhuangzi", "Yi Jing" and "Yi Chuan", and hope that more readers will lead readers into the field of classical literature.

Finally, I sincerely thank Ms. Chen Yanjin, the responsible editor of this book, she provided a lot of valuable suggestions for the writing system and content revision of this book. Based on these suggestions, Dr. Miao Yan made a detailed modification of this book, and thanked him here.

Origin and passage

It was the spring of 2020. Affected by the epidemic, Mr. Chen Guying temporarily lived in Taipei's house. He could not return to the campus of Peking University to carry out teaching and research work as usual. After learning that "Lao Tzu" popularized the publishing plan, Mr. Chen was very happy, because in recent years, his main work plan is to annotate "Lao Tzu", "Zhuangzi", "Yi Jing", and "Yi Chuan" and "Yi Chuan" and "Yi Chuan" and "Yi Chuan". On the basis of ", the" San Xuansi and Four Ceremony "is amended to the popularity, hoping to popularize the philosophy of mysterious in the classics at the popular level, so that more people can access these ancient and new Chinese wisdom.

In this way, Mr. Chen once again put into the stack of paper, reconnect annotations and translations in chapters, one chapter, one chapter, and re -writing "Guide" and "Appreciation and Comment" for each chapter. The newly written "Introduction" and "Appreciation and Comments" can be said to be the biggest highlight of "Introduction and Translation Note". In the "Introduction", Mr. Chen entrusted the theme and structure and cock of each chapter to remind the key concepts and topics in it to guide and assist the readers to read; in "Appreciation and Comment", Mr. Chen made further comments on key contents to comment further. In the meantime, the views of other scholars often quote. In Mr. Chen's opinion, the academic communities formed by the old Taoist houses should have received universal attention. These research results span across the Taiwan Strait and China and the West. Researchers have Mr. Chen's teachers, as well as his students, and more peers. Mr. Chen has maintained close attention to their academic achievements. Mr. Chen will not use a computer. His long -term habit is to copy the relevant knowledge materials obtained from reading to or stick to the book. Of course, it is more in mind and in his heart. Therefore, this revision is indeed a process of finding and organizing a piece of memory fragments. Mr. Chen often said that when he was old, his memory was bad, and he wrote things to swallow. In fact, Mr. Chen's writing slowly because he attaches great importance to the original scriptures and attaches importance to the research results of his predecessors and today. And even if it is written slowly, he still completes the first draft of "Introduction and Translation Note" in a short period of time, which is composed of multiple laptops. The manuscript formed. On this basis, Mr. Chen used his collection of books in Taipei and Beijing. With the assistance of the students, after a carefully edited and organized by the students, the popularity was finally completed. The name "Introduction and Translation Note" was published in April this year.

Continue and change

"Introduction and Translation Note" has condensed Mr. Chen Guying's new thinking about Lao Tao Taoist and Pioneers in recent years. Compared with the past, there are continuity and changes.

What continues is that he has the positioning of Lao Tzu in the sense of Chinese philosophy, and the understanding of "Tao" in the sense of Chinese philosophy.

The continuation is the sense of mission and social care of his consistent times when he annotated "Lao Tzu", as well as a conscious reflection on the Chinese and Western cultural forms. For example, through the anti -war chapters and peace chapters in "Lao Tzu", the attention of the issues of war and peace, conflict, and harmony, and the attention of the principles of exchanges between the country. Of course, it also includes nutrients from the cultivation wisdom of Laozi Taoism to nourish the soul of modern people.

The same continuation is his emphasis on Guo's "Lao Tzu", and the review of Lao Tzu and the tendency of Lao Tzu's anti -Confucianism. In 1993, three groups of "Lao Tzu" manuscripts were unearthed in Guodian Village, Jingzhou, Hubei. Among them, Chapter 18 of "Lao Tzu" "Avenue Waste, with Righteousness" is "wisdom out, there is great pseudo", not in the chapter of Guo shop "Lao Tzu", today's "Lao Tzu" tenth The "uniqueness and abandonment" of the nine chapters is not found in the chapter of Guo's "Lao Tzu", but instead writing "unauthorized falsification". In the past, it was these two chapters that "Lao Tzu" and Lao Tzu's anti -Confucian tendency. Now it seems that Lao Tzu is unintentionally compared with "benevolence" and "big pseudo". Benevolence. " Even in Mr. Chen's view, "Avenue is abolished, there is benevolence" saying, "When the most ideal social situation changes, when there is a problem with interpersonal relationships, the morals of benevolence are even more valuable." After Guo's "Lao Tzu" came out, Mr. Chen modified it in accordance with the unearthed literature. This revision has strengthened this.

Readers who are familiar with Mr. Chen should have noticed that this enhancement also contains changes. For example, during the revision of Chapter 38, Mr. Chen further strengthened the positive meaning of "Ren Yi" in "Lao Tzu". The understanding of the first sentence of chaos, thinking that "ritual" is here, behind a surface criticalness, which implies positive meaning behind the criticality. It should be that this sentence should be that "the most important connotation of ritual is loyalty. If loyalty is insufficient, it is insufficient. The disaster is about to start. "From this, the response was mistaken for the statement of the anti -ethical morality.

At the same time, Mr. Chen also incorporated Confucius and Lao Tzu's complementary participation in ethical and religious issues in recent years. In terms of ethical entries such as benevolence, filial piety, and loyalty, in the concept of governing the country in dean of inaction, discussing Kong and old similarities and differences in the people who care about the people and the people of caring for the people, in order to reveal the two Chinese and Taoism. Humanistic feelings of culture.

In addition, the revision of this version also pays special attention to understanding Lao Tzu's thoughts in the associations of "Lao Tzu" and other classics.比如,“无为”所受《诗经》和《周易》的影响、“观复”对<观&卦和<复&卦的发展、“柔弱胜刚强”和《尚书》《易经》《易传"Correction and so on. In the front and rear veins of the development of early Chinese thought, broaden readers' understanding of Lao Tzu's thoughts.

It is worth mentioning that "Introduction and Translation Note" also included the portrait of Lao Tzu and the calligraphy of the famous calligraphy and painting artists of Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasty.Selected famous paintings of museums and art museums at home and abroad, and through the imagination of Lao Tzu's images of the paintings and calligraphy masters, leading readers from Lao Tzu from literati artists to Lao Tzu's deep thought world, constituting another highlight of the book.May 7, 2022
