In 2016, Han Shijiang came to Tangyuan for the first time. At that time, there was only one tower and a pavilion. After reading a lot of historical materials along the ruins of the ancient city wall of Xichang, Han Shijiang learned that these ancient city walls could be traced back to Puzhou of the Tang Dynasty more than a thousand years ago. One of the history of Xichang from the city wall, continuing the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty, and the design concept of Tangyuan came into being.

After visiting the ancient capitals such as Xi'an and Luoyang, in early 2019, Han Shijiang and the design team drawn the first draft of "Tangyuan". In the drawings, the pavilions and pavilions in the garden are similar to the Tang Dynasty -style buildings in most cities at that time. "Such a building does not have its own characteristics, and it is basically no different from others." When everyone was ready to finalize the design plan, Han Shijiang took the initiative to stop.

"I hope this building can remember the nostalgia of hometown." After discussing with the design team, Han Shijiang overturned the previous design and began to find the characteristics of Liangshan and Xichang in more ancient books, legends, and folk customs, and put it on it The style of incorporating Tangyuan. One year later, the Tangyuan design drawings with Liangshan characteristics were "released" again. Han Shijiang said that he hoped that Tangyuan would tell the story of Liangshan and Xichang.

In order to make the stone carving, Han Shijiang invited many universities including Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts and the School of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University for pattern design, and went to Hubei to find suitable stone materials.
