Xie Jueyu, the word Huannan, Bian Juezhai, born in 1884, native of Ningxiang, Hunan, was admitted to Xiucai at the age of 21. In August 1920, Xie Jueyi was introduced by He Shuheng and went to the editor of the Changsha Popular Education Publishing News in Hunan to edit the "Hunan Popular News" to spread new ideas, new knowledge, and new culture. In May 1937, in the face of the national anti -Japanese situation, the Kuomintang agreed to establish a semi -open office in Lanzhou -the Red Army Liaison Office. On July 29th, in order to strengthen the party's united front in Gansu and the strength of the office, Xie Jueyi was commissioned by Mao Zedong as a representative of the CPC Central Committee in Gansu, and this rack came to Lanzhou. Facing the status quo of complex struggle situation and a very bad environment, Xie Jueyu ignored his personal safety, looking for various opportunities, and made every effort to promote the formation of the Gansu anti -Japanese nation united front. He Yao, then the old chairman of the Gansu Provincial Government, was the same as Xie Jueyu. He was a native of Ningxiang, Hunan. Two were once affectionate friends. Xie Jueyu used the relationship between his fellow villagers and his old friends to fight for the He Yao Group. At the beginning, He Yao Group was not active in visiting Xie Juezhang, and she avoided it. With the establishment of the Anti -Japanese National United Front and the unremitting efforts of Xie Jueyu, the political attitude of He Yao Group finally changed, and began to accept the opinions and suggestions made by the party. During his work at the Eighth Route Army in the Gansu Office, Xie Jueyu wrote hundreds of thousands of words of work diary, and published more than 70 articles on propaganda anti -Japanese salvation with pseudonym such as Huannan, Juezhai, Mingyuan, and Jiaxin.

Xie Juezhang's life is very frugal. He does not smoke or drink. There are only five -yuan allowances every month. He is often used to fund comrades who have difficulty in family life. In his portable items, the most precious is this leather box. According to Mrs. Xie Juezhang, Wang Dingguo, in the suitcase, it has always been in contact records, confidential documents, and daily diaries of the Kuomintang people. In the hearts of Xie Jueyu and the comrades of all offices, this suitcase is a veritable "property" of the office, and it is also a real "treasure box".

In September 1938, the Party Central Committee decided to transfer Xie Jueyu to Yan'an, and the suitcase also came from Yan'an to Xibaipo from Xie Jueyu, and finally came to Beijing. In 1981, the Memorial Hall of the Eighth Route Army Lanzhou Office was officially opened to the public. Mrs. Xie Juezhang Wang Dingguo donated the leather box to the memorial and let it settle here.
