"Zhejiang New Literature -Zhejiang Newhew Writer Group Tour" series interviews

Lin Xiaozhe: The writer is outdated, he can only write a little thing

Lin Xiaozhe

Male, born in 1980, Yueqing, Zhejiang, is scattered in "Harvest", "Jiangnan", "End of the End", "Mountain Flowers", "Youth Literature", "Sinan Literature Selection", "Selected Novels in the Novels", and "Selection of Prose". Shanghai Literature "Short Story Newcomer Award. The 40th young and middle -aged writer Gaoyan Class, the 40th young man of the Lu Xun Academy of Literature, and the writer of the Xinhe Plan Talent Talent Talent Talent.

Lin Xiaozhe wrote very slowly. He likes to compare the writing process as "constipation" and is willing to polish for a few months for a novel. Since publishing the first novel in "West Lake", he has been slowly promoting his writing "subsequent industry". His job is to be a staff member in government agencies and cannot write full -time. He said that he prefers like this and let him understand more about the world. He even suspected that writing as a karma may be dangerous. "Many writers have written too much", he only looks forward to "writing something." "Writing is a pleasure of thinking." Lin Xiaoshe likes writing to keep his heart free, and hopes to use writing to "explore and dig a real world".

Writing is just a hobby for me

Chinese Writers: What is the earliest reading experience in your memory? Did you read more when you were a kid?

Lin Xiaozhe: When he was a kid, there were many villains in the family, or it was the earliest reading experience. I grew up in the countryside in the 1980s. When I was a kid, there were not many reading, and there were no conditions, but compared with my peers, my eldest sister had "Story Club", and my grandfather had "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and "The Romance of the Sui and Tang dynasties". Wait, and the uncle is a high school student in the early 1980s, and there are many books in the family. After the fourth grade of elementary school, I started watching martial arts. I have been seeing the third grade. What is depressed is that all the martial arts novels I have indicated "Jin Yong" are pseudo -Jin Yong's works. After studying in college, I specially made up for "Liancheng Jue". Why is Liancheng Jue? This is the shortest of Jin Yong's long story. At that time, I didn't read martial arts, but I needed to see a real thing to compensate for my ignorance teenager.

Chinese Writer Network: Can you still remember the first novel you published? What was the situation at that time?

Lin Xiaozhe: The first time I published a novel was "West Lake", when I was still playing QQ space. I met Le Qing's senior writer Ni Rongxuan through QQ space. This was in early 2008, Mr. Ni recommended the novel I sent me to Teacher Ma Xu. Ma Xu worked at the Leqing Literature Federation at the time and compiled a literary publishing called "Xiao Tai". After watching my novel, Ma Xu immediately called and asked if I could recommend it to "West Lake". This is of course something I can't ask. In the afternoon, I went to his office to visit again. I knew him for a long time, but that was the first time I chatted with him. He has written a short comment to my novel. I was moved by this. After returning to my office, I almost shed tears, and my voice choked. I was unexpectedly recognized, and since then, I have made real thoughts on literary creation.

Chinese Writers Network: When I know you work in government agencies, I am surprised. Kafka is also a civil servant who writes only after get off work. What kind of writing habits do you usually insist on writing every day?

Lin Xiaozhe: I can't insist on writing every day. I usually start writing after my child falls asleep and around 10 pm. Now at the grassroots level, work is relatively leisurely, and I will write a little during the day. My speed is very slow. It takes more than one month to write a short story of a thousand words, and the middle article is more than three or four months. My writing is a process of continuous deduction. Slowly thinking and writing slowly. If you insert mixed things in the middle, it is a few days and a few weeks, and sometimes the plot will be unpleasant. I have also tried to speed up, but the effect is not good. Therefore, writing is almost a "constipation" process for me. The talent of flowing flowing has nothing to do with me.

I have been engaged in text work for a long time, write various documents, and often work overtime until late at night, which occupies writing time. After becoming a family, I was keen on family life and had two sons, which also took time. In addition, I am a idle person and I always waste some time. It can only be said that no matter if there is any writing, I have always kept writing. Writing is too personal, it has no promotion of work, has no family, even side effects, and cannot bring material wealth, it is difficult to put it in a vital position. It can only be a hobby.

Chinese Writer Network: Do you think for a writer, or take writing as a side job as a sideline?

Lin Xiaozhe: Writing can only be a sideline for me, because my writing cannot solve the material foundation. I am a secular person, and the idea of not being mad and unjust can only be realized in the novel. I recently saw the singing of the five bands and liked their seemingly amateur style. Their randomness, freedom, simplicity, authenticity, and market wells could not be done by professional professional singers.

But I do n’t have the intention to speculate that writing as a industry may be dangerous. If there is not enough talent, I have to produce a large number of sub -products. Many writers have written too much. Parting some of the energy into the mediocre daily life may have more direct experience of sweetness and bitterness. A mediocre work allows us to understand more about the world. Chinese Writers: What is the significance of writing for you? What do you think you have gained from writing for so many years?

Lin Xiaozhe: I often sigh that writing will make people lose something. After all, I am not living in the literary circle. Most people around me are different from me. I am a "useless" person, and I can have been "useful". I remember that when I was in the first year ago, those players who were playful began to swim. Once after school, I took a bicycle of a playful classmate. He asked me, why he was studying so hard, why was he still studying? I have nothing to do. I feel that I am outdated, but I can't change it. Writing is probably the same. The writer is outdated, and he can only write something. In addition, what can you do? It is difficult for you to change yourself.

But writing did bring me something, which was invisible. For example, writing is a pleasure of thinking. This way of joy and self is more advanced; writing is also an independent, individual labor, at least to keep the heart free; writing will make us more real, because writing is always It is the most important thing to explore and dig a real world.

The truth of the novel is a feeling

Chinese Writers Network: Some of your novels portrayed small staff trapped in the system. They have a strong exposure to the system operation rules. They often have ironic and absurd colors, which make people think of the writers such as Chekhov, Kafka and other writers. work. For example, in the "Pure", Zhu Dunben wanted to leave the evidence of colleagues to give gifts as a bargaining chip. He didn't want to be sent to the Internet. He could only post the photos of himself pretending to give gifts to the forum. The whole story is quite ironic. There are also "I" in the "Into" and Liu Bang competed for the position of the middle cadres, using a conspiracy anonymous report, and finally suspected that it fell on myself. The end of the novel stopped abruptly, which made people remember. Are these stories related to your work experience? Do you have an interesting idea first, and then imagine the whole story?

Lin Xiaozhe: After graduating from college, I entered the grass -roots government agencies and has not left. Most of my friends in my life are also in the organs. The life of the small staff of the organs is my most familiar life and my first -hand writing resource. But what I write is not official novels. I want to induce me to write is not an interesting idea. If there are some interesting details in the novel, most of them are produced in the process of writing. This is also the fun of writing: interesting is unknown, full of exploration. What induces me is more emotional, or the urge to describe a certain state. For example, the "excuse", the origin is the difficulty of one of my friends to promote the promotion of the middle level, and I suddenly had a sad mood. "Pure" is to laugh at the small staff members who are keen to give gifts. Both novels are relatively early. Last year's short story "Widow has a disease" also wrote an agency. At this time, many friends around me have been promoted, but it is basically hopeless, so I have the urge to describe this "hopeless" state.

Chinese Writers Network: In "If", Li Chun is looking for first love without fruit, and Li Lu in "Ask for the Book" begged for a female. The similarity of the theme of the two novels makes people guess is a variation writing in the same mode? Although the protagonist is meticulous, life often exceeds his rational analysis. Is this a summary of your life experience?

Lin Xiaozhe: The long -term organ life made me feel the humbleness of the person most. And how many people with power holding power are often ridiculed, which is indeed my "bad intention" as a small staff. I think of them as a real state of life. The reason why the protagonist is thoughtful is because I try to show their rich inner world, but the objective world must not be controlled by their careful thoughts. They are weak, and rational analysis is destined to live.

Chinese Writers Network: Zhang Wan has photography hobbies in "Duck and Prophet", and the Leica M10 street is hanging on his chest. "Friends who take pictures", you recall the past. It's hard not to make the characters in the novel correspond to you. Does the protagonist have you? In the creation of the two novels of "If" and "Express", you concluded that "my brothers are the source of power I write." In addition to brothers, do you also find inspiration from yourself? How do you deal with the relationship between reality and fiction?

Lin Xiaozhe: The protagonist does have my own shadow (this is also a limit), at least a kind of way I like, roughly in a state of being a little bit of being caught and a little bit bad. When I wrote "Seeking", I did not get married or my girlfriend. The physiological reactions about women's pregnancy were consulted. Since I haven't seen contraceptives, I also asked a friend to go to the pharmacy to take a look (I dare not). "Ducks and Prophets" also happened overnight in the duck shed, so I can describe the details of the duck's eggs, but in reality, it is the same -sex friend with a friend, there is only a base, no love. These are really beautiful pasts, I will always miss it. But the plots appearing in the novel are almost fictional and never happened in reality. Reality is a feeling. If the "if" in "If", the anxiety in the "Excuse", the Tang Tang in "Ask for the Book", these emotions are real. Chinese Writer Network: You like to describe the delicate and sensitive psychology of the characters from the first person perspective. The psychological description is meticulous, the logic of narrative is clear, and the story is quite absurd. Is this writing method influenced by some writers? Can you talk briefly?

Lin Xiaozhe: Many years ago, I read Han Dong's "South South" in "Writer" magazine, a short story. I found that the author's way of promoting the novel is very unique. So I bought Han Dong's novel "My Plato". The novel of the same name in the collection tells the story of a teacher in love with a female student. There is a detail in it. It is the protagonist's imagination of the different situations that the girls may confess to the girl. I think it is very interesting. My major is the law. Many years ago, I have the professional qualifications of lawyers (indicating that there is no white studies), and the law is also particular about logic. Many of the details in my novels are played step by step, which also makes the rhythm of the novel slowly.

I have liked Han Dong since "South South", and it is still more than 20 years. What a unique existence he was now.

Literature can improve a person's art appreciation

Chinese Writers Network: In addition to photography, painting and music often appear in your novels. For example, Zhu Jinna in "Burning" is a painter, involving a lot of knowledge of painting history; "Inspiration of Music" is involved in classical music. Are these all your preferences? In addition to being used as a material, did the arts such as photography, painting, music, and music also affect your novel writing? What do you think novels can learn from other art?

Lin Xiaozhe: I am ashamed that classical music is not my preference. I am a blind. "Inspiration of Music" is an early thing. When writing it, there is an attitude of a game in it: I don't understand music, but it doesn't prevent me from letting everyone have the illusion of understanding the music. This is also an interesting place for writing. There is a little bit of self -contained in the words, but no one will see it. I set the protagonist in "Burning" as a painter because I have never wrote the painter before, but I liked to draw a painter since I was a child, so I want to write a painter, and he (she) must be crazy to comfort himself. The hobby of death. I also like photography, but except for family life, I have never taken anything else. I am in the essence of art categories such as photography, painting, and music, so they should not affect my writing. This problem may be in turn, writing can affect a person's view of art. In other words, as the foundation of all art categories, literature can naturally improve a person's art appreciation ability. In addition, in terms of photography, after all, it is an art of walking, which gives the characters in the novel a photography preference, which can let him naturally be in a state of walking. This is an interesting side of photography.

Lin Xiaoshe's painting "Ding Due No to Delivery"

China Writers Network: Earlier this year, you and four Wenzhou writers have jointly held a painting exhibition. Your work involves the topic of travel, walking, chatting, home, and other topics. Can you talk about your painting experience? Where is the difference between painting and writing?

Lin Xiaozhe: In fact, there is not much experience. I grew up in the countryside and never had the opportunity to receive art training. I didn't know what sketch was until high school. When I was in my sophomore, I switched to painting with a brush, because it looked like a brush was more stylish than pencils, ballpoint pens, and pens. I won't draw after work. This is the result of a choice. I thought at the time, how can I choose if I choose from the third -class painter and the third -rate writer? From a practical perspective, from the promotion of three -run painters to the second -class, the possibility is far less than from the three -stream writer to the second -class. In addition, as a craft, the skills of writing are mainly read and realized, and painting requires a large number of repeated mechanized labor. I heard that students in art majors can paint to vomit. Writing is impossible to vomit.

It is obvious that writing can affect painting. I think my immature paintings are supported by literature. Looking at it like this, I haven't been painting all the time. But the exhibition did not draw a few more.

Chinese Writers Network: You have written, "For a long time, I have been in a state of autism in literature. I insist on a life of reading and writing, but there is no connection with the literary circle." Is it the result of your voluntary choice to keep distance from the literary circle? What do you think of keeping a distance from the literary circle that makes you get, and what is lost at the same time?

Lin Xiaozhe: This sentence refers to my state before 2008. At that time, I did not know any writer, and even Le Qing local writers did not know. But now this sentence feels a little bit of work, I do n’t want to answer, but I can also pull a few words at will: the grassroots writer itself is a distance from the literary circle. This is a physical distance, and I am not good at socializing. There is also a chemical distance, that is, your work is recognized and digested by the literary circle. If your work is not recognized by the literary circle, it is not digested, and it is boring to squeeze into the literary circle. I can't help but think of Confucius's words: "Fortunately, you can ask for, although the whip is a whip, I can do it. Chinese Writers Network: You said that Gefei's "Awakening" quit you from reading materials such as literature, history, and philosophy to novels and start literary creation. What does it mean to discover the three writers of Yu Hua, Ge Fei, and Su Tong?

Lin Xiaoshe: Gefei's "Wake" is very interesting. I saw this novel in 2000. I was weird at the time, I don't know this novel (because it was collected in the best short story in 1999), why is it a novel? Can the novel be written like this? This is the first time I have contacted Pioneer Novels. This is a pioneering thinking. Interestingly, this novel later appeared in a collection of prose. The boundaries of novels and prose were unknowingly broken.

But I want to talk about Wang Xiaobo. Wang Xiaobo developed a greater thinking for me. Our thinking is too solidified. We used to be a good student in the school. Our greatest happiness is praise from authority (leadership, teacher and award). After reading Wang Xiaobo, this completely changed. Wang Xiaobo asked me to prepare for writing. Good students can't write good articles.

Chinese Writer Network: You said that only a nerve -sensitive and fragile man is suitable for novel writing. This is consistent with the impression of the protagonist in your novel: they are often extremely sensitive, delayed by imagination, and lack of action. Are you like this in real life? Why do you think this kind of personality is more suitable for writing?

Lin Xiaozhe: My action is very poor, which is recognized. I feel that I am suitable for being a military division, but I don't know if others recognize. My wife admires my ability to observe very much, which is her unique discovery.

This is probably a kind of southern writing? Southern people live between ordinary lanes and every day in the relationship between people. If they are not sensitive to interpersonal relationships and surrounding things, it is difficult to write things. The vast, magnificent, and rough northern cars can not see a person who has been driving for a long time. They may not need to be sensitive to subtle things. They can consider more ambitious things.

Great novels make us face ourselves more sincerely

Chinese Writer Network: You think that "a successful novel should have a tension itself, which stretchs like petals and compact as flower buds." Please list one or two and make a brief comment.

Lin Xiaozhe: I don't like the analogy of petals and buds. It feels difficult to say what a successful novel is now.

I recently watched Polarine's "2666". It consists of five parts, which is very thick and has a certain difficulty in reading. The core of the novel is hundreds of women's murders that occur in San Trisa. Poranio is very interesting. It does not simply promote this kernel, but continues to run questions in the process of promotion. The novel involves all aspects of content. It is very rich. The colorful petals scattered in the wind. So this running novel has gained a magic power and is full of wisdom. It updated my understanding of the novel.

Chinese Writers: What are the great novelists in your mind?

Lin Xiaoshe: I read Nabokov's "Lolita" a few months ago. Because my classmate Tian Xin said to me, the author of "Tide Map" Lin Yan read more than twenty "Lolita". So I also plan to read a few more times. I think "Lolita" is a great work. I don't know much about judging. I think the greatness of "Lolita" is likely to be its unique subject matter and the charm of micro language. It also allows us to get rid of the constraints of thinking and concepts more deeply, so that we can face ourselves more sincerely.

I usually read more Western novels. There are too many novels in the West, but my reading is mostly to watch flowers, and I rarely study, and they are not listed. Is it great that Lu Xun can be called great in the Republic of China? In contemporary, Wang Xiaobo will definitely not be included in great, but I like him.

Chinese Writer Network: Do you know how much about Chinese contemporary literature? Do you read the works of the writer of the same age? Who are you more optimistic about the "post -80s" writer?

Lin Xiaozhe: Out of convenience of work, I subscribe to many literary publications. But did not put the main experience on reading publications. I will consciously read the works of writers of the same age and look at their techniques. I will also read the "post -90s", maybe I can see more possibilities. Some "post -70s" writers may fall into the "classic" martial arts, but "classic" may also be "aging" and loses the possibility.

Chinese Writer Network: On your literature, do you have any special person who want to thank you?

Lin Xiaozhe: Thanks to Ma Xu and Dongjun, both of them are Yueqing writers, they are their encouragement and help, so I persist to the present. I also thank my wife for their understanding of me, and she accepted my writing state that I might have been unknown.

Chinese Writer Network: What themes are you paying attention to recently, are you writing new works?Lin Xiaozhe: For the first time this year, I tried a small long story, which has been written nearly 50,000 words.Based on the orally of my father and mother, it is a non -fiction, and of course there are fictional components. My parents are ordinary farmers, but they are not disconnected from the times, but have been experiencing changes in the times. They are all people, and they are the most vivid quality of their families.I especially want to show this quality, which is the most important reason.Secondly, I also want to understand how I came through my parents. If you say a little bigger, my father has been engaged in the electrical appliance industry since the early 1970s, and it is still the same as this year, but he is always an ordinary small workshop owner. The spirit of Wenzhou people "and more realistic and daily.
