Corporal Bird Embroidery

This embroidery was unearthed in the ancient cemetery of Astana. When excavated, it was a breast covering the chest. It is 38 cm long and 26 cm wide. The whole body is red, which is a silk fabric. There are patterns embroidered on the red silk bottom. Above the pattern is five inverted mountain peaks. In the middle of the pattern, there is a godbird with both heads. On both sides of the godbird, there are two strong dragons in symmetrical embroidery, and two birds are embroidered below. Around the birds and dragons, some curly grass patterns were covered in the meantime. The whole embroidered pattern was evenly symmetrical and vivid, showing the superb embroidery technology of the embroidery workers. The most striking part of this embroidery is the two birds in the middle, which is also called "common bird". The pattern of the common bird is derived from the story recorded in the "Buddhist Scriptures". The common bird is a common theme in Buddhist art. It tells people that the individual and the whole are the relationship between the rest and the common and the common life. It is a symbol of living and dying, common destiny, national unity, and harmony of each other.
