Xihuamen Street is similar to Donghua Gate Street, and is also named because it is outside Xihuamen. It is also one of the streets that still retain the street names after the Gongyuan of the Qing Dynasty disappeared.

The two -thing streets of Donghuamen Street and Xihuamen Street in the Qing Dynasty are not symmetrical in the pattern: Donghua Men Street is the east -west street that has been east after the Donghua gate, and there are north -south directions. Donghuamen North Street and Donghuamen South Street; Xihuamen Street is a north -south street behind Xihuamen, so today's Xihuamen Street is still north -south. The original Xihuamen Street is not long. It is located north of Renmin West Road and walking north to Madao Street, Ping'an Bridge Street, and Wufu Lane. Then to go north to Yangshi Street. Connected streets. In 2003, the relevant departments of Chengdu widened these four streets and merged into a long street. They were collectively as Xihuamen Street. It was on Renxi Road in the south and north exit on Yangshi Street.

This church not only has the consistent magnificent style of the European Catholic Church, but also combines it into a local building style. It has the characteristics of Chinese and Western combination. It is the most intact "Byzantine" building complex in Chengdu. It has very high historical and cultural value.
