From this, you can understand the positioning arrangement of the bell tower and the drum tower on the front axis. The fifth question is why the city space behind the bell tower has no central axis display without extending it to the North City Wall? What is the meaning of urban space behind the bell tower?

Since the starting point of the central axis is the bell tower, and it is in the central platform, and the central axis can only extend south. So why is there no extension of the central axis to the north of the bell tower? What is the meaning of layout in the north of the bell tower? This is also a question worth exploring.

According to the "south culture" concept of yin and yang, there is an idiom of "Tiannan and North", which indicates that heaven is in the south and the earth is in the north. So, where is the critical point of this north and south and yin and yang reflected on the central axis? This is the bell tower. Because the morning bell was not ringing, it was still night, which was yin. With the first bell of the day, it ushered in the morning glow and opened the vitality. The arrival of this day was the display of yang. Many important iconic buildings are arranged on the central axis of the sun in the south of the bell tower, indicating that it is a real axis, which is very obvious.

The north side of the bell tower is still a considerable range of urban space, and there is no northern delay and display of the central axis. When the plan was planned at the Yuan Dadu that year, there was not much construction in a large new city in the north of the center of the center of the center. However, it did not extend the central axis to the wall of the North City, nor did it set up the North City Gate Building in the middle. There was no symmetrical layout on both sides of the city planning. It seems that this central axis has disappeared.

Then, according to the characteristics of the north, the two city gate buildings that are symmetrical on both sides of the northern wall can be set up, namely the Andingmen and De Shengmen (Figure 34). Nowadays, the ruins of the Yuan Dynasty are not only national cultural relics protection units, but also have been listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO on June 29, 2012. This magnificent world view planning and ancient urban planning phenomena are also unique in the history of world urban construction.

Of course, the central axis of the ancient city of Beijing has broke through the virtual axis concept after the modernization of the new Beijing, and has shown the image of the real axis. The Olympic Forest Park makes this central axis rejuvenate a more powerful function and vitality.

In the sixth question, can the central axis of Beijing be called Feng Shui axis? What does it have to do with traditional Feng Shui culture? What is the coordinated relationship between this north and south axis and East and West Chang'an Street?

So far, when it comes to the word "Feng Shui", it is more cautious or avoided, and it seems to have become synonymous with feudal superstition. It is true that there are indeed many feudal superstitions. This is inevitable for any classical historical and cultural, and contemporary people should not demand the ancients too much. We can only treat traditional culture with the attitude of scientific and objective dialectical analysis. The inheritance of Feng Shui culture is still an important part of the traditional Chinese culture. There are indeed many scientific and reasonable places. We should use the essence, abandon its dross, and seek truth from facts.

Feng Shui is a social phenomenon, which is known as Kansaba, divination, and phase art, so as to cause map houses, etc., involving many areas of knowledge, such as astrology, geography, geology, climate, biology, to cause landscape aesthetics , Social psychological behavior, etc., can be collectively referred to as Feng Shui culture, recognition as ancient science.

From the perspective of planning architectural disciplines, Feng Shui is actually a science of the ancients' construction site selection, that is, in the natural environment, the concept of "the unity of heaven and man" is used to choose the favorable architectural base that is most suitable for living and survival and development The environment, including settlements, residences, tombs, etc., in order to find Feng Shui treasures, drive good luck to avoid evil. In this way, the organic and unified coordination of the artificial environment and the natural environment can be called an ancient living environment or construction planning. Feng Shui science and construction science and garden science are the three pillars of ancient Chinese architectural theory. These three are not separated, mutually beneficial and complementary, and complement each other.

In the process of 5,000 years of civilization in China, Feng Shui culture has a long history, and even traceable earlier, and has developed in prehistoric civilization. In the archeological excavation, the "China First Dragon" tomb was discovered at least seven thousand years (Figure 37), and four stacked patterns were arranged on the meridian. The huge skeleton, its head facing south, and the pairs symbolize the double femoral bone that symbolizes Beidou. The image of the "Left Qinglong, Right White Tiger" shaped with mussel shells on both sides is the earliest dragon shape discovered so far. This at least indicates that the formation of such a mature Feng Shui may be traced back to 10,000 years ago. There is also the original tribe site of Xi'an Banpo Village six thousand years ago. The 5,000 -year -old history of Chinese civilization has been included in the World Heritage List Liangzhu Ancient City Site, which can clearly see the influence of Feng Shui culture. Therefore, Feng Shui is actually the accumulation and summary of the experience and wisdom of people's survival and construction skills on the land of China for thousands of years.

We really need the original source of Feng Shui culture, and we must explore research in depth.

Then, in the planning and construction of the ancient capital of Beijing, the construction of the site and the construction of the ancient city, including the design of the palace, will definitely operate in accordance with the principle of feng shui surgery. There is no doubt about the geographical location of the entire capital of the Beijing Normal University, which is definitely the first Fengshui treasure in the world. In the ancient books of "Tianfu Guang Ji", there is a large feng shui between Heaven and Tiandi. The mountains are sent from the clouds, surrounded by the Yellow River, and the back is Yanshan. The north symbolizes Xuanwu Turtle Shou, and there is a mountain mountain, which is also known as the Mountain of Wanliu Mountain. This is the height of the dragon vein on the central axis (Figure 42, 43). The south symbolizes Suzaku's flying dance. The gate of the Forbidden City Gate is shaped with the concave door of the Wufenglou, and the space is majestic. The "Four Zhengsi and Four Spirits" regulations of Feng Shui are represented by the spirituality of Qinglong, Suzaku, White Tiger, and Xuanwu. All of these are in accordance with the purpose of the Book of Changes, "Everything is negatively shade and hugs the yang, and is rushed to be righteous" to realize the "one yin and one yang."

Many ancient cities have the style of cross streets, and many important buildings such as the Commerce Department are built here, and the city center is formed.
