In 1945, with the belief of "learning scientific and saving China", Lu Yuanjiu crossed the ocean and went to the Department of Aviation Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States.

"Since coming to study abroad, we must learn new things." Lu Yuanjiu learned that he had been in trouble. He chose to study at the forefront of inertial navigation technology at the time, and successfully obtained the world's first doctorate degree in inertial navigation. At the age of 29, he was hired as an associate researcher and research engineer by MIT.

In addition to the research of industrial production automation, he also hosted the automatic control research and stability system research of aircraft, and has achieved results. During this period, he insisted on writing monographs. In 1964, his book "Principles of Gyro and inertial navigation (above)" was published. This is one of the earliest monographs in my country's inertial technology.

On November 29, 1975, China's first returning remote sensing satellite returned to the ground according to the scheduled plan to recover successfully. The satellite has obtained many valuable remote sensing data and test data, and China has become the third country with recycling satellite after the United States and the Soviet Union in the world.

Lu Yuanjiu advocated the need to track the world's cutting -edge technology and implement the spirit of "improving the generation, developing generation, and exploring generations" in model work. Under his leadership, China Aerospace has carried out pre -research topics such as static pressure fluid floating support technology and the development of various testing equipment.
