The development team of the Antarctic Sky patrol telescope led by our alumni Yuan Xiangyan won the 17th Chinese Youth Female Scientist Award Team Award

On July 15, the 17th Chinese Youth Female Scientist Awards Ceremony was held in Beijing. The 1998 graduates of optical technology and photoelectric instruments in our school, and the director of the Antarctic Sky patrol telescope led by Yuan Xiangyan, director of the New Technology Research Office of the Nanjing Astronomment Technology Research Institute of the Nanjing Astronomical Optical Technology Research Institute of the National Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, won the Young Female Scientist Award.

The Antarctic Sky Tour Telescope Team was established in 2008. It is responsible for the development of the main body of the AST3 telescope and the installation and maintenance of the ice dome A in the Antarctic Inland Inspection Department. The Antarctic Sky patrol telescope is the largest unmanned automatic observation optical telescope in Antarctica. It adopts an independent innovative large -scale folding telescope optical system. The main scientific goals are the early discovery of the solar system and the supernova of the supernova. In the future, the team will develop large -caliber optical infrared telescopes with huge competitiveness and scientific value for national strategic needs, and contribute to the development of my country's astronomical development.

The 17th China Youth Female Scientist Award was co -organized by the National Women's Federation of China, the Chinese Science and Technology Association, and the National Committee of the Chinese United Nations Education and Sciences. The aim of commending advanced and using examples to motivate young women to actively participate in scientific and technological innovation actions. A total of 20 Chinese female scientists awards and 5 team awards were produced in this year. There were also 5 doctoral and post -doctoral posts selected as the "Future Women's Scientist Program" in 2020.
