Recently, the Jama magazine released reports that 19 of the 33 women undergoing uterine transplantation surgery in the past 5 years have successfully enabled fertility.

There are currently more than 100 uterine transplant surgery in the world, more than one -third of them in the United States. Women need to achieve in vitro fertilization and frozen embryo through assisted reproductive; anti -reject drugs are required, and embryos are implanted 6 months after uterine transplantation. After fertility, the uterus can be removed and drugs are discontinued.

Among the 33 female patients in this report, 23 of the 23 women's transplantation uterus can operate normally after one year, and 19 of them have 21 babies, with a median weight of 2860 grams and no deformed deformities.

Women have no uterine incidence of about 1/4500, and diseases such as cancer may also cause absolute infertility caused by uterine resection, and about 1 million American women are troubled by this. This study proves the feasibility of giving birth in uterine transplantation and the safety of both mother and child. It provides treatment options for patients with infertility.

However, some experts said that the operation may be greater than benefiting security risks and costs. Including immunosuppressive infection, blood loss during surgery, and unknown long -term complications, this operation cost is about 100,000 to 300,000 US dollars, and insurance companies may refuse to provide support for maternity treatment. Women's depression risk brought by the failure rate of embryo transplantation and pregnancy itself should be included in risk assessment.

In addition, two -thirds of surgery is a living donation, and 25%of the donors have surgical complications. This is also a problem that uterine transplantation should be overcome.
