Global connection | Mongolian Railway Operation 5th Anniversary -The Road to Ecological Environment
Author:Xinhuanet Time:2022.08.03
In 2017, the Mongolian Railway, which was officially opened to traffic, crossed the wild animals and plant protection areas such as Nairobi National Park and Chawo National Park. In order to reduce the impact on the environment, the railway has adopted a series of measures during the design and construction process.
On the basis of investigating wildlife living habits and migration paths, a total of 14 large wild animal channels and 79 bridges have been set up across the Mongolian Railway. The net height of all bridge -type animal channels is above 6.5 meters, which is convenient for large animals such as elephants and giraffes. There are quarantine fences on both sides of the line to prevent animals from passing and reducing the chance of collision between animals and trains. A sound barrier across the Bridge across the Nairobi National Park is installed to reduce the noise when passing the train. In order to minimize the impact of the railway on the Monbaba mangroves, many protection measures such as bypass mangroves were adopted during the design and construction of the project. Many measures are the vivid embodiment of Chinese engineering construction respecting nature, adapting to nature, and protecting nature.
