South Korea's "Daily Economy" exclusively reported on the 7th that the United States recently proposed to South Korea to hold a preparatory meeting on whether South Korea participated in the "Chip Quartet Alliance". The United States proposes that the "Chip Quartet Alliance" should be based on the premise that "the participating countries should respect China's emphasis on China's principle" and "do not mention export restrictions on China".

According to reports, government departments such as the Presidential Palace of South Korea, the Ministry of Planning Finance, and the Ministry of Industry of the Industrial and Commercial Resources stated on the same day that in response to the requirements of the United States, South Korea plans to hold a preparatory meeting early next month and formulate internal plans. South Korea will take "not stimulating China" as the principle of negotiation and be included in the meeting topic, and discuss the need for semiconductor cooperation with the United States.

It is reported that the United States had previously asked South Korea to informed whether to join the "Chip Quartet Alliance" before the end of this month, but South Korea had hinted that "this is not the time limit for (South Korea) to follow."
