Xinhua News Agency, Dhaha, June 19 (Reporter Yang Yuanyong) The International Aviation Transportation Association announced on the 19th that the launch of an online carbon emissions computing tool can provide accurate carbon dioxide emissions calculations for commercial passenger transport flights.

The 78th Annual Conference of the International Aviation Transport Association and the World Aviation Transportation Summit opened on the 19th of the capital of Qatar. The International Aviation Transport Association issued a bulletin on the same day that the new carbon emissions calculation software launched by the association can provide accurate carbon dioxide emissions calculations for any commercial passenger flight to meet the growing demand for carbon emissions data in the aviation industry. This software uses the carbon dioxide computing method released by the International Aviation Transport Association in March this year. The calculated data is related to actual fuel consumption information and passenger loading rate.

Fredrik Laije, a senior vice president of the International Aviation Transport Association responsible for commercial products and services, said in the bulletin that travelers hope to know more about their carbon footprints. With this software, individuals and enterprises can obtain standardized carbon dioxide emission calculation data based on information such as aircraft type, routes, and service grades, and make choices on this basis.

The annual conference of the International Aviation Transport Association and the World Aviation Transport Industry Summit will last for three days. The meeting will focus on discussing issues such as the sustainable development strategy of the aviation industry, the status quo of the aviation industry, and future challenges.

The International Air Transport Association is headquartered in Montreal, Canada. It has 290 member airlines around the world, and its regular international flight passenger volume accounts for about 83%of the world.
