Sweden and Finland said they were surprised by Turkey's opposition and said that Turkey had been expressing their support for them before they submitted their applications.

Turkey has accused Finland and Sweden with a shelter for banned Kurdish Workers' Party. The Kurdish Workers' Party was listed as "terrorism" by Turkey and its Western ally.

Because any agreement to join NATO must be unanimously agreed by all the 30 member states of this alliance, the obstruction of Turkey has caused the process of Finland and Sweden to join the process of joining NATO.

Stoltenberg emphasized at a joint press conference held with Finnish President Ninito, "No NATO allies suffered more terrorist attacks than Turkey."

"These concerns are reasonable. This is related to terrorism and related to weapons exports. We must solve the security issues of all allies, including Turkish concerns about Kurdish Workers' Party." He said.

"As an important allies in Turkey, we must sit down and take the problem of terrorism seriously. This is what we have done." Stoltenberg said.

In the past few weeks, the Secretary -General of NATO has been trying to resolve this dispute. He said, "I hope to see this problem as soon as possible", but he has not disclosed whether it has made any progress.

NATO will continue to negotiate with Turkey, and Stoltenberg said that the NATO summit held in Madrid at the end of this month was not the last period.

Finnish President Ninito reiterated on the 12th that "we are surprised by Turkey's position" and emphasized that Finland is "seriously" treating these concerns.
