According to a report by Broadcasting Corporation on July 17, on the evening of July 16, local time, a Ukrainian cargo machine crashed near Caval in northern Greece, and the cargo aircraft had caught fire before crashing.

It was a Ukraine-12 cargo machine that crashed from Serbia to Jordan. All 8 people were killed on the plane; the cargo aircraft was equipped with 12 tons of "dangerous items", mainly explosives.

The Greek National Broadcasting Corporation (referred to as ERT) reported that due to engine problems, pilots demanded urgently landing in Cavara Airport in northern Greece, but they could not reach the runway, and eventually crashed in farmland about 40 kilometers west of Cavara Airport.

According to a video shot by local residents, the aircraft had been on fire when it fell, and a big explosion occurred after hitting the ground.

"I was surprised by the voice of the aircraft engine." A witness told ERT, "I walked outside and saw the plane engine on fire."

Witnesses said that the explosion of the plane lasted for two hours.

According to GreekReporter News Network, everyone, including firefighters, forbidden to approach the wreckage of the plane because they are afraid of toxic smoke.
