On August 13th, the 17th Sichuan Youth Table Tennis Open, hosted by the Sichuan Table Tennis Association, started at the Ziyi Campus of the Sichuan Academy of Culture and Arts. The Open was divided into singles and group competitions according to the age group.

In recent years, the Sichuan Table Tennis Association has held the Youth Open to thoroughly implement the "full age and full coverage" of national fitness campaigns. According to Dai Tianyun, Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary -General of the Sichuan Table Tennis Association, the Youth Open in the first two years was suspended due to the epidemic. There are 59 teams in various places, and nearly 800 teenagers signed up for the competition. Different from previous years, this year's competition was used as a guidance unit by the Sichuan Sports Vocational College of Physical Education Vocational College. "The first elite training camp in Sichuan Province Table Tennis Youth in 2022", with the provincial athletes and outstanding athletes of the same age group selected in the province conduct professional table tennis training. "Being able to enter the elite training camp and conducting professional training with the provincial team are really rare for these children who love table tennis. This is one of the highlights of our competition this year.
