Definition of sports drinks

According to the definition of "Sports Drink" (GB 15266-2009), sports drinks refer to drinks that nutrients and their content can adapt to the physiological characteristics of sports or physical activity people, can supplement moisture, electrolytes and energy to the body, and can be quickly absorbed.

Sports drinks can replenish electrolytes such as energy and lost potassium, sodium, and other electrolytes, maintain the acid -base balance of the human body, so that the human body maintains good physical strength and endurance in long -term high -intensity exercise training, and significantly reduce fatigue after exercise.

How to choose sports drinks?

Sports drinks are a type of specialty drink. Special use drinks in "Drinks" (GB/T 10789-2015) are divided into sports drinks, nutrients, energy drinks, electrolyte drinks, etc. Therefore, the latter three special drinks do not belong to sports drinks.

Energy drinks, the main role is to provide the body with supplementary energy, or to accelerate the release and absorption of energy release and absorbing.

Nutrient drinks, such as vitamin drinks, are not sports drinks, but because they add vitamins and electrolytes, daily exercise can also be consumed.

Although electrolyte drinks, although there are potassium, sodium, calcium and other substances, compared to sports drinks, there is no characteristics of "replenishing energy" and "rapid absorption", which is more suitable for daily drinking.

Can sports drinks be drunk that day?

Sports drinks are not exclusive to professional athletes. Some people who conduct medium and high -intensity exercises or engage in heavy and long -term physical activity can also drink sports drinks to supplement moisture, electrolytes and energy in a large amount of sweating. Although sports drinks can quickly replenish energy, their sugar content is usually 3%-8%. Long-term drinking can cause health problems such as obesity, diabetes, and dental caries. In addition, the sodium content in sports drinks is generally 50-1200 mg/L, and the potassium content is generally 50-250 mg/L. Long-term drinking will increase the burden on the kidneys and cause adverse effects. Therefore, for people with low exercise and sports weight loss, they should usually pay attention to replenishing water. If you drink sports drinks as water or ordinary drinks, it will affect health.
