The International Airport Council (ACI) issued a quarterly evaluation report on June 28, analyzing the impact of the new coronary pneumonia epidemic on the airport. The report shows that relaxing travel restrictions have a positive effect on the demand for global aviation travel.

Recently, many European and American countries have canceled most of the epidemic prevention measures, relaxed the restrictions on travel, and make the aviation industry reunify. However, as the major aviation market in the Asia -Pacific region is still in a "semi -closed" state, the speed of aviation transportation recovery lags behind Western countries. This undoubtedly exposes the imbalance of the global aviation industry's recovery.

The airport transportation volume is good

The resumption of airport transportation is good. It is expected that the global passenger volume will be significantly increased in 2022, and the total passenger transport will reach 7.1 billion, which is 77%of the total passenger transport in 2019.

Due to the new coronary pneumonia's epidemic, the global passenger volume in 2021 decreased by 4.6 billion, a decrease of 50.3%. In the two years after the outbreak, the number of passengers in the global airport was reduced by 10.2 billion.

ACI General Luis Felipe de Oliveira said, "According to the latest data and my recent travel experience, many travelers are eager to restore travel -the number of tourists in early summer can prove this. On the one hand, over time, people’s’s’s The sense of "lack of holidays" is increasing; on the other hand, with the increase in vaccination rate and the popularization of epidemic prevention measures, people's confidence in aviation travel is high. In this context, relaxation of travel restrictions will make people more inclined to choose aviation travel. As a result, many countries have canceled almost all epidemic prevention measures and travel restrictions, and gradually restored the normal state. The demand for aviation tourism in the second half of 2022 is expected to achieve a jump. "

Uncertainty still exists

Even though transportation is currently on the rise, the recovery of the aviation industry still has many uncertainty, especially for medium and long -term development. The adverse factors facing the aviation industry include the possibility of geopolitical conflict, intensification of inflation, risk of economic recession, interruption of supply chain, labor shortage, and a new round of epidemic outbreak. Despite the downside risks, the aviation industry is still confident to return to its transportation level in 2019 in the next two or three years.

Due to the spread of Omikon's mutant strains, the market recovery speed in the first quarter of 2022 was lower than expected. Based on the current situation, the global passenger volume is expected to gradually reach the same period in 2019 at the end of 2023, and it will be fully restored to the entire year of 2019 in 2024.

The rise of domestic passenger transport volume in various countries has led to the overall recovery of the aviation industry, but the recovery of the Asia -Pacific region is lagging behind, and the retrospective of international travel has slowed down (global perspective, domestic passenger volume in 2019 accounts for 58%of the global total passenger volume). It is expected that the global domestic passenger volume in 2023 (Global Domestic Passenger Traffic) is expected to reach the 2019 level, and the time required for the recovery of Global International Passenger Traffic will be recovered one year after the global domestic passenger volume recovery. It is expected that in the second half of 2024 In order to reach the level of 2019. (Source: China Civil Aviation Administration International Cooperation Service Center)
