Durian is a tropical fruit. With the rapid development of the modern logistics industry, it often appears in sales venues such as supermarkets, fruit stores, and gradually accepts more and more people. In order to help consumers eat, purchase and store durian scientific, make the following consumption tips.

What is durian

Durian belongs to the genus of Kobae family, alias Shaozi, musk cat fruit. The growth cycle of durian is long, and it takes 4-8 years to bear results. It is mainly planted in Southeast Asia, and some areas in southern my country are also planted. The average temperature of the growth environment is above 22 ° C, and it is generally listed in May to August. The durian on the market is mainly imported.

Durian fruit is oval -shaped, pale yellow or yellow -green. The outer cone -shaped rough thorn. The nutritional value of the flesh is high, rich in protein, fat, vitamins, minerals, and flavonoids, polyphenols and anthocyanins. It contains sulfur compounds such as dysyl tritrofit, and has a strong smell. The taste is soft and delicate, known as the "king of fruit". Common durian varieties include golden pillows, Matshan King, Tomani, etc. In addition to fresh food, it can also be made into durian dried, durian powder and durian sauce, and durian desserts and beverages that are deeply processed.

Buy durian

Consumers should buy durian through regular channels. If you buy imported durian, you need to pay attention to information such as origin, source, entry and quarantine of entry, and inspection and quarantine, nucleic acid detection certificate, disinfection certificate and other information. Avoid purchasing and overseas shopping, and do not purchase imported durians with unknown sources. When choosing durian, pay attention to the following 5 points:

Smell it. Reliable to the bottom of the durian. Mature durian has a strong smell. If you smell the taste of wine, it means that durian may have deteriorated; if you smell the smell of grass similar to just cut, it means that it is not mature enough.

Look at the appearance. Generally speaking, the same variety of durians, the fruit of the fruit is relatively large, the color is relatively yellow, and it is light yellow or dark yellow. If the color is green or green, it means that it is not mature enough.

Pinch a spike. Hold the two neighboring tip of the neighboring thorns inward with your hands. If it is difficult to pinch and feel solid, it indicates that it is not completely familiar. Pay attention to safety during the process of pinching with your hands and be careful.

Look at the lobe. If there are some fine cracks on the top of the fruit, you can smell the strong smell at the same time, indicating that the durian maturity is high. It is not recommended to choose durian with large cracks, because it is impossible to confirm whether the flesh is polluted.

Shake the flesh. Gently pick up the durian, and shake it gently with your hand after stabilizing. If you feel that there is a gently collision, or a little sound, it means that the flesh is mature and separated from the fruit shell, otherwise it is more born.

Storage durian

Naturally stored. The unknown durian needs to be stored in a cool and ventilated place. The immature durian can be wrapped in newspapers or cloth, and placed with fruits such as apples and bananas. It is stored in a cool place and mature and fast.

Refrigerate or frozen storage. After the durian is opened, the flesh needs to be installed with plastic wrap. Put it in the refrigerator about 4 ° C for refrigerated and stored, generally not more than 2 days. It can also be stored in about -18 ° C for a long time, and the durian will have the taste of ice cream after freezing. When eating again, pay attention to see if you have deteriorated. If you smell sour or wine, do not eat it.

Peel the shell before eating durian. First of all, cut the convex part of the durian at the bottom of the durian. You can see the lines inside, then cut it along the lines, then peel the durian shell, remove the flesh, and eat it. Durian should not eat too much at a time.
