In the first half of this year, despite the impact of the epidemic, the total retail sales of consumer goods in my country came out of a V -type trend year -on -year, and the consumption toughness was fully prominent. In the second half of the year, what is the trend of consumption in my country? What shortcomings do you need to make up for consumption growth potential? What new highlights and new trends may be ushered in during the consumption recovery process?

With the above issues, "Daily Economic News" (hereinafter referred to as NBD) reporters, Huang Hai, assistant to the former Minister of Commerce and Honorary President of the Chinese Commercial Economic Society at the Hainan Consumers Expo.

The key to stimulating consumption potential is to enhance the purchasing power of residents

NBD: In the first half of the year, the total retail sales of social consumer goods in my country came out of a V -type rebound. How do you evaluate such a performance, and what will the consumption trend in the second half of the year?

Huang Hai: Generally speaking, the consumption trend in the first half of the year is still expected by the market.

Since April, due to the impact of the epidemic, first -tier cities such as Beijing and Shanghai have been greatly impacted. In April, the total retail sales of consumer goods increased double -digit negative growth. Since the epidemic has gradually been effectively controlled, the country's package has been promulgated, and consumption has steadily rebounded since May. It should be said that the most difficult time for consumption in my country has passed.

In the second half of the year, my country's consumption will continue from the recovery trend of May to June, and continue to regain better. Among them, the consumption of some fields such as tax exemption, tourism, camping, etc. may have a large rebound trend.

Generally speaking, in the second half of the year, the possibility of large -scale and explosive rebounds in my country will have a large number of expectations, but the steady recovery has greater expectations. Consumption of certain products and areas may have a large rise.

NBD: Since the second quarter, the state has introduced a package of measures around promoting consumption. What shortcomings do you need to make up for consumption growth potential?

Huang Hai: I think the biggest constraints in the current consumption are still the problem of purchasing power.

We can see that since the epidemic occurs, the consumption of related service industries in catering, tourism, education, and education has experienced negative growth. The income of employees in these areas decreases, which will inevitably have a certain impact on the entire consumption. After decreased revenue from these industries, the unemployment rate has increased, and if such a momentum does not contain such a momentum, a vicious circle may be formed.

Recently, consumer vouchers have been issued in many places across the country, and home appliances have been launched to the countryside, and new activities such as old and new. These measures will play a very active role in stimulating consumption and stimulating consumption potential. At the same time, we need to pay more attention to issues such as employment and income. Only by increasing residents' income and increasing their purchasing power can they truly stimulate the potential of consumption growth.

The trend of consumption environment and consumption will become more intelligent

NBD: You also mentioned just now that consumption in some areas and some commodities is expected to usher in a large rise. What are the characteristics of China's next consumption transformation and upgrade?

Huang Hai: As people's consumption concepts continue to mature, simple and green consumption continues to strengthen, smart consumption may become a new trend. The phenomenon of impulse, imitation, and wave -type consumption will gradually decrease, and instead of intelligent, personalized, and simple consumption.

For example, the adjustment of electric lights at home, air -conditioning air volume, and curtain opening and closing are integrated on a intelligent control platform. Another example is that consumption such as smart toilets and smart bathrooms is gradually favored by consumers. These all reflect the more intelligent consumption environment and consumption trends.

On the other hand, personalized consumption will also become a new choice, which is the so -called niche consumption. People no longer pursue the same, but are personalized, and the proportion of service consumption will be further increased. If you want your personality, you will inevitably involve personalized services. In the future, China's service consumption is expected to reach 70%~ 80%.

NBD: Duty -free consumption is Hainan's golden signboard. How can the tax -free consumption better help the consumer market recovery in the future?

Huang Hai: Duty -free islands is a consumer model unique to Hainan Free Trade Port. From the current point of view, it is uncomfortable.

We can see that under the impact of the epidemic in the first half of the year, the total retail sales of consumer goods across the country decreased by 0.7%year -on -year, but the tax -free sales of Hainan outlying islands achieved double -digit growth, making important contributions to the consumption recovery of Hainan and even the country.

But on the other hand, we must also soberly realize that the proportion of tax -free consumption in the entire consumption market is not high, and tax -free consumption is not replicable for other cities. At present, the concept of tax -free in the city is very hot, but there is room for further demonstration of tax -free consumption positioning in the city, that is, which type of consumers are most attractive in which type of consumers in the city.

As a window for China to open to the outside world, Hainan must make full use of the policy advantage of the outlying islands and to create a new growth pole for tourism consumption. Hainan's outlying tax -free shopping market still has huge potential.
