From "1" to "1 million", less than 3 years of Tesla Shanghai Super Factory's production capacity performance is bright

Xinhua News Agency, Shanghai, August 15th (Reporter Zhou Rui) The 1 million vehicle of Tesla Shanghai Super Factory has slowly drove off the production line recently. From the first to 1 million, this factory only took less than 3 years.

On January 7, 2019, Tesla Shanghai Super Factory started construction. The first vehicle was offline in December 2019. At present, the industrial chain of Shanghai Super Factory has exceeded 95%.

The Shanghai Super Factory is the first overseas factory outside the United States, which is of great significance for Tesla's deep cultivation in China and the global market. The introduction of Tesla in Shanghai has driven the upgrade and transformation of the automotive industry chain in Shanghai and surrounding areas. The Tesla Shanghai Super Factory has formed a full ecological chain of new energy vehicle components such as Shanghai, Suzhou, Ningbo, Nantong, and other Yangtze River Delta regions such as aggregation batteries, automobile chips, autonomous driving systems, automotive interior, and precision processing.

Despite the severe challenge of the epidemic, in the first half of this year, Tesla Shanghai Super Factory achieved exports of 97,182 vehicles, which was more than twice the export volume of 41,770 vehicles in the same period last year. In the first half of 2022, Tesla Shanghai Super Factory produced nearly 300,000 vehicles, and the delivery volume in half a year had reached more than 60 % of the annual delivery volume in 2021.
