The cost of photovoltaic components drops sharply

At present, the PERC battery is still changing the size of the wafer. In the past, the upper limit of photovoltaic battery wafers was 210 mm, and PERC broke it to 300 mm. Theoretically, it may reach 600 mm. "In the future, the size of photovoltaic batteries may be containers," Martin said.

Silicon materials may exit the photovoltaic market

Today, Martin has achieved huge success in marketization. Martin is still thinking about a question: What is the next step? He thinks it is a better battery structure.

"The batteries of different materials are stacked together to filter sunlight according to their own attributes. Each layer of battery is absorbed and transformed with photons that are most suitable for absorption, which can greatly improve the battery efficiency." He said.

The more stacking batteries, the importance of silicon materials gradually decreases. If a three -layer battery can be stacked, the silicon can withdraw from the historical stage, because by then, the film material can be replaced by thin film materials.

"This is just the beginning, and there is a great potential to decline at a very large cost. Future electricity will become very cheap." Martin said.
