The biggest challenge to repair roads in the desert is sand.

The higher the temperature, the asphalt is not easy to cool, thereby ensuring the quality of construction. Hate is because the feeling of "steaming sauna" in the desert is too uncomfortable.

The surface temperature of 70 ° C, plus asphalt that just rolled from the pavement machine and over 100 ° C, the hot heat penetrates the soles of the soles of the soles. Among them. Accompanied by high temperature is wind sand. From March to July each year is the windy season in the desert. When the wind rolls, it rolls with sand and dust. "Sometimes people who can't see the road opposite the road can only be suspended." Jing Wenyun said.

In the "Sea of ​​Death", there is no water, no electricity, no signal, high temperature and heat, wind and sand, and the road builders are insisting in this environment, and they will go out a big road little by little.

600 miles of sandproof barriers to guard highway

"To build roads in the desert, we must fix the sand first, otherwise the flowing sand dunes will bury the road. We construction and laying reed grass squares on both sides of the road." Wang Yunfei said.

Highway builders borrow from other desert roads and sand prevention and sand prevention. The entire line of grass squares protection projects is built on both sides of the road base. The first is to reduce the surface wind speed to achieve sand fixing and protect the base side slope of the road.
