The ancient saying is cloud: "It is easy to fight rivers and mountains, and it is difficult to keep the country." In terms of intimacy, it is also applicable. A close relationship ranges from the seeds to rooting, and every minute of ignorance of ambiguous period is randomly. From the leafy leaves to the fruit of flowering, the couples of the honeymoon love period have also set up a sweeping mountain alliance. However, after this passion retreated, how many flowers of emotions lost the moisture that survived, and withered in a blink of an eye.

How can we make the relationship between intimacy long? In fact, not only you, psychologists also want to know the answer to the question. Lev Tolstoy said, "Happy families are the same, and unfortunate families have their own misfortunes." In order to explore whether a good intimate relationship has common characteristics, how can we effectively improve the quality of a period of intimacy, and take a look at what our psychologists have done for this.

What did you do?

When we encounter a problem in our lives and don't know how to solve it, we always think of how to do it with the classmates, friends or seven aunts around us -how to improve the quality of intimate relationships in the face of how to improve the quality of intimate relationships This academic problem, researchers' ideas are also similar: 86 researchers from different countries and universities have come up with a total of 43 research databases they have.

These databases contain a total of test data from as many as 11196 couples or couples, with a total of 2413 variables obtained by testing (here can simply understand that variables refer to the influencing factors related to our research theme).

In these more than two thousand variables, the researchers first extracted two variables as indicators to measure the concept of intimacy relationships in accordance with other research practice in the same field. (Community).

For all the remaining variables, researchers divide them into two types: one is a variable used to describe a person's own psychological characteristics. Anxiety level, depression level, empathy ability, and so on; the other is a variable used to describe a characteristic of a relationship. The degree of conflict, communication method, sexual satisfaction, and so on.

The core of the next research is how to establish a predictive model, test the above -mentioned individual difference variables and relationship feature variables (we call predictable variables) from the perspective of statistics, which is satisfied with the satisfaction and commitment of the index of the quality of intimacy. The prediction effect that the two variables (we call the variable) — that is, we have to make a model now. This model allows us to know What is the impact of commitment as a measurement indicator).

Considering the limited space, we only introduce the most important prediction analysis made by the researchers here.

The predicted variables mentioned above can be divided into two types: individual difference variables and relationship feature variables. All variables in the database are the result of testing for couples or husbands and wives. The report (Actor-Report) and the partner-report (for example, the small A and the small B couple filled out the anxiety level questionnaire together, so for Xiao A, the questionnaire result I filled in it is self. Reporting version of the anxiety variable, the questionnaire result filled in by the small B is the anxiety variable of the partner report version). Then, predictable variables can actually be divided into four categories:

a) Individual difference variables of self -reporting;

b) Individual difference variables of partner reports;

c) The relationship feature variables of self -reporting;

d) The relationship feature variable of the partner report.

Based on these four categories, the researchers further combined and got the collection of three additional variables:

e) All individual difference variables (meters with B merged);

f) All relationship Feature variables (C and D merged);

g) All variables (meters and f merge).

Therefore, the researchers use the seven different variable combinations of the A ~ G as the prediction variable, and the relationship with the relationship with the relationship with the relationship and the commitment is used as the dependent variable to build the predictive model to test the respective prediction variable combinations of the seven different predicted variables. Prediction effect.

What did the study find out?

The analysis found that when the relationship is satisfied, the interpretation rate of the predictive model of the predicted variables with different combinations is very different (the interpretation rate refers to the amount of predictable variables in a model that can predict the statistical science of the variable The indicator, the higher the explanation rate, the better the prediction effect of the model).

Specifically:

When the individual difference variables of self -reporting are the predicted variables, the interpretation rate is 19%;

When the individual difference variables reported by the partner report as the predicted variable, the interpretation rate is 5%;

When all individual differences variables are predicted, the interpretation rate is 21%;

When the relationship feature variables of self -reporting are used as predicted variables, the interpretation rate is 45%;

When the relationship feature variable of the partner report is the predicted variable, the interpretation rate is 15%;

When the predicted variables are predicted with all the relationship variables, the interpretation rate is 46%;

When all variables are predicted variables, the interpretation rate is 44%.

From the overall observation of the changes in the interpretation rate, we can find that the explanation rate of the variables of self-reporting as the predicted variable is much higher than the interpretation rate of the variable based on the corresponding partner report as the predicted variable, and its gap is even as high as 3-4 times. In addition, the interpretation rate of prediction variables based on relational feature variables is also significantly higher than the explanation rate of predicted variables with individual differences.

These findings may also be more in line with our general awareness of intimacy: their own characteristics and psychological feelings can affect the quality of intimacy of the intimate relationships in which they experience, and the characteristics of the interaction between the interaction are involved in the individual of the two parties involved in the individual of one party. The characteristics are more important for the quality of intimacy.

As a result, it is worth noting that the interpretation rate of predicted variables based on the relationship feature variables of self -reporting is 45%. ) Or then add an individual difference variable (that is, constitutes all variables), and the interpretation rate has almost no change.

This shows that the relationship feature variables of the relationship between self -reporting are likely to contain information that is far more than the remaining types of variables, so that even if the remaining variables are added to the predictive model of the relationship feature variables of the self -reporting. More new information for prediction. In other words, the characteristics of the relationship you feel have a very important impact on the quality of intimacy.

The interpretation rate of predictive models using different combinations to predict variables is also very different. It is not difficult to find that the general situation of changes in the interpretation rate brought by the combination of different predicted variables is very similar to that of relationship satisfaction. However, the value of each interpretation rate is slightly reduced as a whole. Specifically:

When the individual difference variable of the self -report is the predicted variable, the interpretation rate is 16%;

When the individual difference variables reported by the partner report as the predicted variable, the interpretation rate is 4%;

When all individual differences variables are predicted, the interpretation rate is 17%;

When a self -reported relationship feature variable is the predicted variable, the interpretation rate is 35%;

When the relationship feature variable of the partner report is the predicted variable, the interpretation rate is 11%;

When the predicted variable is based on all relationship feature variables, the interpretation rate is 36%;

When all variables are predicted variables, the interpretation rate is 34%.

Furthermore, the researchers examine the specific variables in the two types of variables of relationship characteristics and individual differences, which variables performed better during the predicted process, and sorted them. Relationship feature variables and first five individual difference variables.

The characteristic variables of the first five relationships are:

1) Perceived partner commitment

2) Appreciation (Appreciation)

3) Sexual SatisFaction

4) Perceived partner satisfaction

5) Conflict

The difference variables in the first five individuals are:

1) Satisfaction with Life

2) Negative Affect

3) Depression

4) Attachment anxiety (Attachment Anxiety)

5) ATTACHMENT AVOIDANCE

What does the study explain?

What factors determine the satisfaction and loyalty between you and your other half? How can we effectively improve the quality of intimate relationships between you?

The results of the study show that the passive emotions and depression emotional experiences, and the unsafe attachment style and attachment types may indeed be a risk factors in a close relationship -however, if you happen to be experiencing these negative factors, You don't have to feel pessimistic for this -if you can work hard to build and develop intimate relationships from the perspectives such as appreciation, sexual satisfaction, and reduction of conflict, you can effectively reduce the negative effects of these risk factors.

All in all, the individual's own perception and understanding of the characteristics of the intimate relationships has a vital impact on the quality of intimacy.
