Weaving snails are commonly known as conch, conch, wheat snail or white snails. It is mainly distributed in coastal areas such as Zhejiang, Fujian, and Guangdong.

Its appearance characteristics are the sharp tail, slender, about 1 cm in length, about 0.5 cm in width, and about the size of the nail lid; the shell surface often has 1-3 purple -brown or red and yellow snail bands. The surface pattern looks looks like It's like weaving; the mouth of the snail is white, the body is pale yellow, and it usually lives near the coastal reef and the sediment bottom.

The weaving snail itself is non -toxic, but it is poisoned because of feeding toxic algae, enrichment and accumulation of algae toxins in the growth environment, or other toxic substances such as puffer fish toxins. Methods cannot destroy decomposition.

After consumption, dizziness, vomiting, lips, and numbness of fingers can be produced.

The poisoning caused by the edible woven snail is not yet effective. The 2012 Ministry of Health Announcement (2012 No. 13) clearly requested that no food production and operation units shall purchase, process and sell woven snails.

The woven snail poisoning has a certain incubation period, for a few minutes, and a few hours long.

Early manifestations were tongue, tongue, fingertips, and drooping eyelids.

Soon, there will be gastrointestinal symptoms, feeling discomfort in the stomach, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, thirst and other symptoms, and even blood in the stool.

Those with severe poisoning will soon have symptoms such as paralysis, unclear speech, hoarseness, purple magpie, and difficulty in breathing.

Immediately after shock, it will eventually die due to respiratory failure. The entire course of disease is developing rapidly, and people may cause death within a few minutes.

What should I do after eating poisoning?

According to reports, neurotoxin has no special effects so far. Once poisoning occurs, only some commonly used first aid methods, including vomiting, gastric lavage, diarrhea, diuretic, etc. to promote the excretion of toxins.

The Ningbo Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reminds the masses: to improve self -protection awareness and do not buy and eat woven snails. After eating the woven thread, if the symptoms of poisoning of nervous system are numbness such as the lips, you should go to the hospital immediately.
