On the morning of July 11, the South China National Botanical Garden was unveiled in Guangzhou. This is the second national botanical garden established after Beijing National Botanical Garden. The South China Botanical Garden relies on the establishment of the South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The total planning area of ​​the core functional area is 319 hectares. It is the first national botanical garden in South China and an important part of my country's national botanical garden system.

In May this year, the State Council formally approved the establishment of a South China National Botanical Garden in Guangzhou.

The South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is a long -established botanical research institution in my country. After construction in 1993, the South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has now become an important platform for plant conservation, scientific research and knowledge dissemination in global tropical subtropical regions.

South China National Botanical Garden is currently the largest South Asian tropical botanical garden in the world. The total area of ​​the exhibition area and the scientific research area reached 333 hectares, and more than 17,000 conservation plants were relocated. Among the plants that were successfully relocated in the park, there were 643 rare endangered plants and 337 national key wild protected plants.

At present, the South China National Botanical Garden has successfully achieved the wild return of dozens of southern southern southern southern and endangered plants such as Rhododendron Red Mountain Tea, Guangdong Laughing, Hydrangea Qian. The planning and construction of the South China National Botanical Garden takes the protection of the relocation of plant resources in the global tropical subtropical region in South China, and builds the national rare and endangered plant relocation conservation centers and the germ resources resource library to improve the protection capacity and efficiency of plant relocation, realize species conservation of species conservation More than 20,000 species have relocated 95%of the rare and endangered plants in South China.

Ren Hai, director of the South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that the South China National Botanical Garden will coordinate and optimize the scientific research area, specialized display area and technology promotion platform. And with the brothers, we will jointly explore the management, operation system and mechanisms that are in line with international standards and national botanical gardens that meet the national conditions, and promote the formation of some national botanical standards.

It is understood that the South China National Botanical Garden will build a natural education museum, national natural education and ecological civilization demonstration base, build a smart botanical garden, improve the educational courses of botanical gardens, and enhance the ability of plant science education. At the same time, the construction of the cultural characteristics of Lingnan gardens and the world's first -class special garden and special plant display area, comprehensively improve the comprehensive conditions of the park, and strive to build a demonstration and leading regional national botanical garden.
