The ups and downs of the above papers and journals should be normal, especially the phenomenon of high -cited hot articles that drive the significant improvement of JIF, which is normal. Of course, after the "failure" of these high -cited articles, the modified JIF recovery should be fully understood.

The method of using the impact factors such as the periodic of the journal to quantitatively evaluate the journal has a long history. Before there are no other widely accepted "alternatives", some groups are understandable to pay attention to these measurement indicators on some occasions or some times.
