Use a safety rope to transfer the trapped masses, and use the excavator to dig a ditch to make the flood diversion. On the morning of July 16th, in the floods in Baishi Township Town, Beichuan, the Qiang Autonomous County of Beichuan, Sichuan, Mianyang fire rescue personnel used various ways to rescue the trapped people. As of 3 pm on the same day, fire rescue workers had successfully transferred more than 100 people trapped.

Use the excavator to make the flood diversion

"The first batch of rescue workers rushed to Baishi Township Town at 11 am." Lu Xiaorong, deputy captain of the Fire Detachment, said that after a mountain flood occurred in Baishi Township Town and Xinghe Village, Beichuan, the detachment immediately dispatched Beichuan Brigade and Torch Street Special Service. A total of 13 vehicles and 3 boats at the station, Huaxing Road Fire Station, and Huaxing Street Fire Station rushed to the scene for rescue.

According to Lu Xiaorong, due to the influence of mountain floods, there are many landslides and falling stones along the way, which is difficult to pass. The first batch of rescue workers arrived at 12 kilometers away from the town of departure at 9:40 am, and then got out of the car to advance. "Until 11 am, the first batch of personnel rushed to Baishi Township Town, and then began to evacuate and rescue the trapped people."

At 12:30 noon, the reinforcement force of the fire rescue detachment rushed to Baishi Township Town. "The mountain floods above the river are divided into three, and the river embankment crosses the town." Lu Xiaorong said that as the rain decreases, the water level has begun to decline. However, there are still many houses surrounded by floods, and the trapped people are avoided in the upstairs.

In a residential building near the river, many people were trapped inside. "We first sent the rescue personnel to water to appease the trapped persons." Lu Xiaorong said that after the rescue staff passed, while appeased the trapped persons, we selected the best rescue point to fix the rope. The trapped persons are transferred to a safe zone through safety rope traction.

During the rescue process, the fire rescue staff also used the loader to rush to the upper position, leading the flood to another tributary by excavating ditch, and then transferring all the trapped persons to the other side.

As of 3 pm, fire rescue workers have successfully transferred more than 100 trapped people, and the later transfer work continues.
