Meng Zhaoyi

Meng Zhaoyuan was born in Wuhan City, Hubei Province on September 13, 1932. He was admitted to the Beijing Agricultural University Horticultural Department of Gardening in September 1952. He graduated in July 1956. Department of Greening (predecessor of Beijing Forestry University Garden College).

He successively participated in the construction of landscapes at Beijing Forestry University and the establishment of the Department of Landscape Garden. In 1988, he served as the director of the Department of Landscape of Beijing Forestry University and was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1999.

Meng Zhaoxuan was the deputy director of the Scenic Garden Expert Committee of the Ministry of Housing and Urban -Rural Development, Honorary Chairman of the Chinese Scenic Garden Society, and the leader of the Beijing Municipal People's Government Garden Green Consultant Group.

Meng Zhaoyuan has been engaged in teaching and scientific research in the field of landscape garden planning and design, and is committed to inheriting and developing the national tradition of Chinese gardens. The core of the traditional Chinese garden design sequence and gardening method- "Meng's Liuhan".

He has presided over the overall design of Shenzhen Xianhu Scenic Botanical Garden, the environmental design design of Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, and the Beijing Olympic Forest Park "Linquanao Meng" rockery design and other representative planning and design projects, which is of epoch -making significance in the Chinese landscape garden academic community. He has also won the honor of the Lifetime Achievement Award of the China Scenic Garden Society, the China Forestry Science and Technology Contribution Award, the first prize of the Science and Technology Progress of the China Scenic Garden Society, the first prize of the Shenzhen Urban Construction and the Outstanding Design Award of the Ministry of Construction.

Meng Zhaozheng systematically constructed the discipline system of modern landscape garden planning and design. The "Garden Engineering" and "Scenic Garden Project" edited by him have become the first choice for domestic colleges and universities' landscape gardens;
