The Blue Book pointed out that in recent years, the number of clinical trial applications for Chinese medicine and the number of new drug listing permits has increased year after year, and the ability to inherit the innovation of traditional Chinese medicine inheritance has increased significantly. In the new drug clinical trial registration in 2021, 78 Chinese medicines were 16.4%over 2020. New Chinese medicine clinical trials are mainly concentrated in the fields of mental nerves, digestion, breathing, cardiovascular and gynecology.

The 12 new Chinese medicines approved in 2021 were changed from "Fang" to "medicine", and its transformation was "derived from clinical and returning clinical".
