Didi was squeezed out of the top ten.

Brand Application Data Company Apptopia recently released the TOP 10 list of global tourism and OTA applications in the first half of 2022.

From January to June of this year, on the global tourist and travel list, Google Map won the championship with 61 million downloads; and on the OTA Class APP dormant list, Booking.com ranked first with 41 million downloads.

Fuel discounts and flight tracking apps entered the list for the first time. Among them, Flightradar24's downloads of Flightradar24 ranked tenth in global tourism applications, reaching 14 million. The downloads of UPSIDE in gasoline cashback are ranked third in American tourism applications.

01

There are more than half of the travel apps on the global list

According to the top ten lists released by Apptopia, more than half of the top ten lists, more than half of them are travel applications, and the TOP 5 in the first half of this year is exactly the same as the 2021 list. Google Maps still ranked first. The download volume in the first half of this year was 61 million, followed by Uber (52 million), Booking.com (41 million), Google Earth (27.3 million) and Airbnb (26.6 million).

In the sixth to tenth tourism applications in the first half of this year, the taxi application of Indriver, Gaode Map and Flightradar24 are newcomers.

The AR technology provided by Flightradar24 allows users to directly scan the flying plane and understand its departure, destination and timetable. In addition, due to the conflict of Russia and Ukraine, some air prohibitions are prohibited from flying, and the airline has to bypass. Many users will query the new route through Flightradar24, resulting in Flightradar24's system was crowded in March. Recently, due to the large -scale cancellation of flights in European airlines, passengers will also formulate travel plans through this application.

Some newcomers will inevitably have the list, and the application of the crowded list includes Didi, Grab and Lyft. In addition to Didi and Grab, all technical support applications are expanding to takeaway and payment business. They want to be a "super app". Since July last year, Didi Chuxing was removed from the shelves due to regulatory requirements and could not achieve new user registration. So far, it has not been announced to resume on the shelves. This has led to a decline in download to a certain extent.

Short -rent application VRBO

Downloads in the United States sharply increased sharply

Compared with 2021, the top ten tourism application lists in the United States have changed greatly, which is inseparable from the influence of the expansion. UPSIDE enter TOP 3 is a good example. UPSIDE provides a cash cash cash back of 25 cents per gallon in more than 25,000 gas stations in the United States, and provides similar discounts in specific restaurants and daily stores.

The download rankings of major OTAs after UPSIDE have changed significantly. In the first half of this year, the download volume of VRBO, a short -term rental platform of Expedia, was nearly 10 million, which was almost the total download of the whole year of 2021. VRBO also surpassed Hopper and Airbnb, becoming the fifth tourist application in the United States. In 2021, Hopper and Airbnb ranked third and fourth, respectively, and fell to sixth and ninth in the first half of this year.

From the perspective of the top ten OTA download lists in the United States, VRBO ranked first in the first half of this year, and Airbnb ranked at the end in OTA providing short -term rental services.

From the perspective of the global OTA list, Airbnb's status is stable, and the download volume in the first half of this year is still ranked second. Perhaps the platform focuses on the growth of markets outside the United States. At the same time, Trip.com, a subsidiary of Ctrip, replaced Olthamon, ranking tenth.

Passengers' demand is suppressed, and also hopes to reduce travel costs to the greatest extent, which leads to fierce competition between OTA. Airbnb has upgraded its applications. Booking.com clearly states that it is necessary to expand the US market, and Hopper is committed to creating a tourist super app.

Apptopia believes that EXPEDIA focuses on its own and VRBO growth, and has reduced its investment in subsidiaries HOTWIRE, Orbitz, and TravelOcity, because the three subsidiaries in the next year entered the top ten OTA apps in the United States last year, but this year was unknown.
