On September 13th, the Spring City Evening News-Kaiping reporter learned from the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that the ancient ecological researcher of the Xishuangbanna Botanical Garden discovered the new animal species in the new Tongtongbao Group in the central part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau-Tibetan ancient chest cicada fossils.

In recent years, the ancient ecological research team of Xishuangbanna Botanical Garden has found a large number of exquisite bioscent fossils in the new Tongxin Niubao Group in the central part of the Qinghai -Tibet Plateau, including many insect fossils. Through the identification, it was found that there were fossils of insects in these insect fossils. This is the first fossil record of Mo Chanke on the Qinghai -Tibet Plateau. The researchers identified them as members of the Limo Cicchen tribe based on the characteristics of the head and male genitals on the fossil. After comparison with the 11 subordinates of the Limo Chan clan, it was found that it was different from the existing 11 genus, so a new genus was established -Cicada Cicada. This fossil is named the new Tibetan ancient chest cicada.

It is understood that Mo Chan family contains about 1,178 genus and 1561 species, and the existing species are global. So far, there are many fossil records of Mo Chan family. From the ancient Xinshi to the update of the World Communist Party, more than 40 types were reported, mainly distributed in Eurasia and America. The modern groups of the Li Mo Chan tribe are widely distributed in Southeast Asia. The Tibetan Ancient chest cicada is the earliest fossil record in the world to date. This discovery shows that the central Qinghai -Tibet Plateau may be the early evolutionary center of the family during the new generation. Increased, this type of group disappeared in this area due to severe changes in the ecosystem.

The discovery of the fossil will provide important clues for studying the origin of the family and the history of the family and the evolution of the family, the relationship between the planting insects-plant, and even the ecosystem structure in the central Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
