On September 27, the National Engineering Research Center of the remote sensing satellite application was officially unveiled in Beijing. Relying on the construction of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Innovation Research Institute, the center is the only national engineering research center in the field of remote sensing science and technology in my country.

The former engineering center was approved by the National Engineering Laboratory of the National Engineering Laboratory approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in 2008. It has made outstanding contributions to the demonstration and construction of major national remote sensing satellite plan tasks for more than ten years.

According to Gu Xingfa, director of the Engineering Center and a researcher at the Institute of Empty Information Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, my country's remote sensing satellite application has become an indispensable means for economic and social development, but there are currently serious problems in common products and common technology support services. Therefore, on the basis of investigating and analyzing more than 140 satellite remote sensing application business in 21 industry ministries and commissions, the engineering center has designed a common product and common technical system for empty -based remote sensing applications.

Academician Wu Yirong, chairman of the Engineering Center and Dean of the Air Tian Yuan, pointed out that he hopes that the engineering center will seize the opportunities of the scientific and technological revolution and industrial change, focus on national and industry strategic needs as the starting point, focus on solving the problem of "stuck neck" in satellite remote sensing applications, and build it to become become a satellite remote sensing application. It is reported that the engineering center will form an operation and service model that uses remote sensing common products as the core and interconnect with relevant departments and user units.

On the same day, the engineering center released the "National Civil Space Infrastructure Infrastructure Land Observation Satellite Common Application Support Platform". The platform is for satellite remote sensing applications and basic service needs. It provides spatial information product quality inspection and quality guarantee capabilities, and improves the refined and quantitative level of remote sensing satellites. It is an important part of the national civil space infrastructure.
