A few days ago, Hubei University announced the configuration of the new dormitory building of the Yangluo campus, and each of the three barrier -free dormitories reserved in each dormitory building attracted attention. The beds without climbing stairs, soft tables and chairs, and humanized facilities such as bathrooms and toilets with armrests and emergency buttons have facilitated the disabled people who come to study.

According to the "Statistics of the Development of the Disabled Persons in China" in 2021, in 2021, 1,4559 disabled people across the country were admitted to ordinary colleges and universities, and 2302 disabled people entered the college of high special education colleges to study.

In order to understand the actual situation of disabled people studying and living in universities, the Jiupai News interviewed three disabled people.

Zhu Xiaopeng, a doctor of mathematics at the Department of Mathematics of Tsinghua University, told Jiupai News that his current dormitory was originally an ordinary single -person room. Later, the school transformed according to its needs. "At present, I think it is very convenient for campus life. The transformation is basically transformed. I am very satisfied."

But Zhu Xiaopeng also mentioned that finding a job is difficult. When he cast his resume from some universities, the other party learned about his physical condition and said that young teachers need to teach more lessons, fearing that their bodies can't bear it. "My first reaction is more uncomfortable. Although I have made some psychological preparations before submitting a resume, I did not expect that there would be so many difficulties."

Xiao Chen of Guangzhou City Institute of Technology said that he didn't care what others said, "I know that I have more opportunities, not just limited to a certain area."

During the internship last year, Xiao Chen went to a company who started his own business. "He knew that the students were very difficult, and told me that this was not my problem. I also knew that I could compete in related positions and gave me a chance."

The following is their self -report.

[1] Academic conference outside the school or outside Beijing can not participate

In 2011, my sudden spinal cord vascular malformations led to paralysis of the whole body, and now I can only take a wheelchair. I was a normal person before that.

Our dormitory has been built for a long time, and there were basically no barriers to facilities before, and it was slowly transformed later. Like the dormitory I live in, it was originally an ordinary single room. Later, the school slowly transformed the school according to the needs I put forward. At the beginning, there was a ramp, but that slope was very steep, and it was not convenient to go up or down. Later, it was changed to a very long and slow ramp, which was much more convenient.

From undergraduate to a PhD, I have lived in this dormitory for nine years. During this period, my mother was always accompanied by me and lived in the dormitory with me. Overall, there is basically no inconvenience. I usually play games myself, go out to eat, eat, watch movies, and go online with classmates. When there are few people, my mother will accompany me, if it is a class party or the like.

In fact, there is no big difference between me and normal people in this regard -there are several students who have played well, and the others may not be too deep. I don't think much pressure on teachers and classmates. Maybe everyone's feelings may not be the same. You can master this degree yourself. They sometimes ask me some physical problems. If someone can help because of this, I would like to say it generously, and I didn't feel that there was any embarrassment.

Because of physical reasons, I have been unable to participate in many courses in recent years, and many academic conferences can not participate. Some courses in the school will take into account my situation and adjust the class location. Many academic conferences and discussion classes are outside or outside of Beijing. Other students will choose to take a plane or train, which basically can't participate in me.

In 2016, our school established a barrier -free research institute to specialize in academic research on barrier -free; at the student level, there was also an obstacle -free research association to promote the school's barrier -free transformation. I am the first student and the president of the previous session.

At present, I think it is very convenient for campus life. The transformation is basically transformed. Maybe because the needs of different people are different, I am very satisfied. However, like some students reported that some of the schools were inconvenient to enter and exit wheelchairs, barrier -free channels in the cafeteria were blocked by bicycles, etc., and they still failed to solve them. Including the teaching building of the Department of Mathematics, it is an old building. The transformation will involve cultural relics protection. It needs to be discussed and approved. It may take several years.

I feel that it is inconvenient to go to the campus. I do n’t know who to mention it when I encounter a problem. There are few feedback -much more complicated outside the school. When I went to watch a movie before, the barrier -free toilet was full of debris. There was no way to use it. I changed the place and did not reflect this problem. One is because it is really rarely resolved, and the other is because of embarrassment and fear of trouble.

In addition, I think I should also pay attention to the mental health of the disabled people. I first began to paralyze and abandoned myself for two years, lost hope, and then slowly adjusted over time. Now I am also inferior, I am afraid of falling in love. A few years ago, a girlfriend and later broke up. But this (mental health of disabled people) needs to be studied again, and I have no good solution for a while.

I have to say that finding a job is also difficult. Before I cast resumes from some colleges, math teaching posts and research posts. After the first screening, they learned about my physical condition and would tell me that young teachers need to teach more lessons, fearing that my body can't bear it. My first reaction is more uncomfortable. Although I have made some psychological preparations before submitting a resume, I did not expect that there would be so many difficulties. It may be more tolerant to some foreign companies. They don't care whether the body is disabled, and they only need to complete a certain task. I have a friend who went to Microsoft China. He also wanted to find an academic research position in front, but he couldn't find it. I have graduated for more than a year, and I still want to find an academic -related post.

[2] Friends have been with me to help me adapt to the new environment

In elementary and junior high school, I began to notice that I had spine bending. Now the curvature is a bit large. For this reason, my height was stopped at one meter four.

There is no barrier -free dormitory in our school. I currently live in ordinary dormitories. There is no elevator on the 5th floor. I usually spend more than ten or twenty minutes in advance in class. If there is no heavy thing, there is no problem.

The biggest trouble is in the dormitory. Our bed is going to bed, the bed is very high, the stairs are straight, and it is difficult to climb. When I first started, I felt uncomfortable, because my waist could not use force. I could only rely on the strength of both hands and feet. I needed to put a chair below before I could get up and out of bed. There is also washing facilities. The shower equipment adapts to the ordinary person's height. At the beginning of my bath, I asked them to help me take down the nozzle. Later, in order to accommodate me, I would put the nozzle down, or just hang up. The washing table is also a bit short for them, and it is a bit high for me.

In fact, my counselor usually asked me when I encountered it, how is it recently? Do you need help? But he didn't mention the actual problem, and I didn't reflect something I encountered. Because there are such dormitories in the school, there are no barrier -free dormitories or ordinary beds. They cannot change a new set because of me. There are too few people like me in the school, and I see one or two.

I am fortunate that there is a friend who has been in the same dormitory since her junior college. She has been with me to help me adapt to the new environment. The other students I later met will also help me get some heavy items, including suitcases, so overall, there is no problem with my daily life.

My current professional ability can meet the needs of employment. Basically, there are basically more than 80 points in professional courses, but work is still not easy to find. During the internship last year, I interviewed at least ten companies. Many companies took into account my physical problems and did not let me continue to work or join in. The last one was one of our brothers. He was starting his own business and knew that the students were very difficult. He accepted me and told me that this is not my problem. I also know that I can compete for related positions and give me a chance.

Those companies that reject me always find a lot of excuses, such as "you are not suitable", but I can see that it is not because of those reasons. A boyfriend I talked about before, when I broke up, also made excuses, saying that the family did not agree, but I knew it was an excuse. In fact, I don't care what they say. I know that I have more opportunities, not just limited to a certain area.

[3] Cabin -free facilities are actually not just for disabled people

I have a rare disease that affects the muscles and nervous systems. I can walk, but I have poor physical strength. I need to use an electric wheelchair in school. Although the barrier -free facilities in the school said to be improved, they have done a good job. The most inconvenient place is the barrier -free ramp at the door of the dormitory. The angle of its turn is designed to be relatively large, driving too fast, or it will rush down when it rains and snow.

When the barrier -free dormitory was started to enter the school, because there was a small threshold at the door, my wheelchair was difficult to enter and exit, so I let the school help to install a small slope and spend thirty or forty yuan. Because it takes a lot of procedures to apply to the school, you can just find a school worker for help. I don't want to bother everyone.

I am now studying tourism management at the new campus of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics. In fact, when I applied for schools and majors, I wanted to choose an English major to work in translation in the future, but because of physical reasons, I can only choose the majors on the new campus. Later, I found that professional courses and my expectations are still different. I can only watch practical courses like etiquette lessons. I can't participate.

Because I have a history of depression, in order to track my mental situation, the school will let the class committee and class teacher come to the dormitory to talk to me, tell me some school activities arrangement, and talk about daily life. This made me thank both thanks and tiredness. They told me some news notifications, appropriate encouragement, and care that could give me some motivation, but some of the prejudice and sound centralist thoughts contained in it made me want to escape. And because of physiological and psychological factors, talking in reality is more energetic for me. I may be very sleepy after about half an hour. Although I have not been sleepy yet, my attention will be a bit difficult to concentrate.

Exchanges around hobbies will make me feel more comfortable. For example, when I was talking to a teacher, I talked about camping and stray cats in the school while eating, and some of my friends talking about some of my favorite anime games on the Internet. In these cases, I would perform more active. Over the years, I have met some people who have called for disability on the Internet through an article on the Internet. I feel that even if they are on the Internet, people with disabilities will not easily show it, it may be because of a sense of illness. A long time ago, there was such a sentence on the Internet, "On the Internet, no one knows you are a dog," so as long as you disguise properly, because the body is incompatible in reality, you can also integrate into the sea like water. But at the beginning, people who showed their identities and positions, their firm beliefs attracted other people with disabilities like a lighthouse.

In fact, it is impossible to understand our pain in many cases. This pain has the pain caused by physical pain, prejudice discrimination, and pain caused by incomplete facilities. In my opinion, disability is actually a state that everyone has experienced. It is a state of disorder when injury. It is inevitable, so barrier -free facilities are actually not only aimed at people with disabled.

For people with disabilities, the word healing should not be used, but to accept and maintain, and learn how to live better in existing circumstances.
