This is a special art exhibition. It focuses on hearing losses or no hearing groups. Exhibitors not hide their perspective nor hiding their limitations, trying to open more new possibilities within the existing border.

As part of the 2022 International Capital Cultural Festival, "Art · Symbol: Unbounded Symbiosis" is currently exhibited in Shanghai Duolun Modern Art Museum, presenting 16 groups of artists from China, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Singapore, South Korea, and the United States. The images, sounds, photography, installations and behavioral performance works. This is a diversified art exploration around the culture of deaf people and listening to people. The artists are practiced around their unique talents and potentials around sounds, music, words, sign language, symbols, and written languages.

For example, the Deadly Dorothy Band translated the lyrics and music of vinyl records in 1981 into sign language, which produced deaf music -a kind of music that fully expressed through the body, gestures, exercise, interaction, and facial expressions.

Li Youmei is incorporated into narrative illustrations in her art. The hand -language -faced rotating trocracy she created is characterized by facial expressions (eyes, eyebrows, noses, mouths). These expressions are important language marks in sign language. As an early form of animation technology, the rotating capsule was invented in 1834 for watching continuous images to produce visual illusion of sports (the predecessor of our current GIF animation). However, this rotating tube is not a row of images inside, but a vase made of ceramics.

Sign language rap artist Xu Yan's self -directed and self -directed sign language version of "The Solitary" is of special significance for hearing impaired groups. Although they can't hear music, they can only feel the lyrics, but they can still pass their fingertips to pass their emotions to the "lonely", use "heart" to shout, and activate every hard work to chase their dreams!

Cai Rui created a series of paintings about deaf cafes. In the painting, the deaf man looks like a cat, or the three or five friends make an appointment to drink coffee together, leisurely rest, can also become a barista, which will provide people with elaborate afternoon tea for people. From these paintings, we can see the daily life of deaf people. They live colorful and full of beauty.
