Instructions for registration

The "Beijing International Short Film Exhibition" is divided into the competition and non -competition parts. The work requirements are as follows:

The competition part (registered online):

Film Festival competitions are divided into international competition units and Chinese competition units. Both units cover:

Fictional film

Works with obvious narrative structure and subjective narrative orientation, intending to shape the character image and tell the storyline;

Non-fiction films

It aims to continue to explore and innovate works in the creative practice of using real methods;

Experimental film

Usually with a mixed extension characteristics of an experimental film tendency or a multi -artistic expression method;

Unlimited reality, animation forms; unlimited technical means; unlimited subject matter, genre and themes.

The film works last for a maximum of less than 45 minutes (including the end of the film).

The international competition unit display the first producer/region from all over the world (except in mainland China and Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan); the Chinese competition unit display the primary production country is mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Works; and videos of the main language are Chinese, and the film director as a Chinese identity; the above three conditions need to meet at least one.

* BISFF also sets up a medium film to show the non -competitive unit, showing the image works with a length between 45 and 75 minutes (including the head of the film).

Registration conditions

The "Beijing International Short Film Exhibition" is divided into the competition and non -competition parts. Among them, the competition part is opened.

Movies to register for the international and Chinese competition units need to be completed after June 1, 2021;

To register for the competition unit, it is necessary to ensure that there is no screening experience or screening plan in mainland China (including film exhibitions, cinema screening, cable TV show, online on -demand online, etc.). If there are any forms of screening plans in mainland China before the opening of the film, please contact the curatorial team in time and explain it in a timely manner;

Please do not register again in previous film works, including updated versions of the same work.

* Registration for exhibitors must ensure that their copyright, intellectual property rights or related authorization of their works must ensure that the film festival is not subject to any third parties on the exhibition behavior of related films for compulsory requirements, interference and litigation behaviors.

The online registration process will be incurred, and the upload of film works will be uploaded; all registration films should contain at least Chinese or English subtitles, and international competition works should be matched at least English subtitles. Registration film must provide information on Chinese or English works.

The organizing committee will choose and invite five outstanding professionals from the fields of movies, arts, the media and other fields to form a judge. The judges will watch all the competition films during the film festival, and conduct two highest awards of the film festival for concentrated discussions:

International Competition Unit Award

All works participating in international competition units are eligible to compete for 3 international competition units awards (ranking is not divided).

The jury retains up to 2 special quotas.

Chinese competition unit award

All works participating in the Chinese competition unit are eligible to compete for 2 Chinese competition units awards (ranking is not divided).

The jury retains up to 2 special quotas.

Outstanding Art Exploration Award

The Joint Exhibition Organizing Committee will award an outstanding art exploration award in the international competition unit and the Chinese competition unit, respectively, to commend the film with outstanding performance in some aspects (performances, photography, art, editing, music, etc.).
