George Safwat, a spokesman for the Suez Canal Administration, said the tanker hanging by the Singaporean flag was stranded in the Suez Canal at about 19:00 on August 31, causing a brief blockage of the canal.After more than 5 hours of rescue, the tanker was shallow.

The accident occurred in the southern channel extension section of the Suez Canal.In March 2021, the heavy cargo "Changci" was also stranded in this channel.After the "Changci" was stranded, in order to broaden the channel, the Suez Canal Administration had carried out muddy operations here.
