Xinhua News Agency, Cairo, September 17 (Reporter Yao Bing) The Egyptian Suez Canal Administration issued a statement on the 17th that the ship's shipping fee of the Suez Canal will be raised in January 2023.
The statement said that starting in January next year, the traffic of cruise ships and transportation ships will increase by 10%, and the remaining ships will increase by 15%.The continuous rise in energy prices and freight is the main reason for the raising fee.
The Suez Canal is located in the junction of Europe, Asia, and Africa, connecting the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.The Canal income is one of the main sources of Egyptian national fiscal revenue and foreign exchange reserves.
