President Senegal appointed the new Prime Minister for the first time in 3 years

According to Reuters, on September 17, local time, Senegal President Sale appointed former Economic and Financial Minister Ama Duda as the new Prime Minister.

Ama Duda is 61 years old. From 2013 to 2019, he served as the Minister of Economy and Finance, and also served as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

After the meeting of Ama Duda and Saller, he delivered a speech on the National Television: "The main priority of the new government includes improving family purchasing power, suppressing inflation, ensuring housing and security, promoting employment and entrepreneurship."

Senegal abolished the Prime Minister's position in April 2019 and resumed this position in December 2021, but has not appointed the new Prime Minister.

Last week, Sali appointed a new government including 38 ministers. The main departments of the former government including national defense, internal affairs, diplomacy, and the Ministry of Finance were reserved. The biggest change was Olita Salle, director of the United Nations Women's Agency, was appointed Minister of Economic and Planning.

On March 25, 2012, Saller defeated Abdullaya Wade, who was seeking re -election in the presidential campaign, and successfully elected as the new president with a 65.80%vote rate. Saller does not rule out that he will continue to participate in the presidential election in 2024.
