The Cambodian China Times learned from the unified command committee of Sihanouk Province, Cambodia that nine water droppers were rescued in the Vietnam waters. However, Cambodia has not yet received official notification from Vietnam. A total of 41 Chinese citizens (including 3 women), 30 of them were rescued, one was killed, 10 people were still falling unknown, and search and rescue work continued.

A rescued man told the police that they switched to two fishing boats drove by two Cambodian crew members on September 17. When they arrived in the waters of the West Port on the 22nd, the fishing boat failed. Just leave them wandering at sea.

The Chinese Embassy in Cambodia issued a notice on the 23rd stating that at 9 pm on September 22, the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia received a notification from the Cambodian Police General Administration that a shipwreck accident occurred in the waters of Sihanouk, and 41 Chinese citizens were equipped on the ship. 18 of them have been rescued and properly resettled, the remaining 23 people disappeared, and 2 Cambodian crews were arrested. According to the rescued personnel, the staff on board departed from Guangzhou on September 11, and soon after arriving in the West Port Sea, they encountered danger.

After receiving the notification, the Embassy in Cambodia attached great importance to it, and immediately launched the emergency work mechanism and set up a special class. Ambassador Wang Wentian deployed the Cambodian Ministry of Defense, the General Administration of Police, and the Sihanouk Provincial Government and other departments, asking Cambodia to take the saving person as the first priority and use all forces and means to conduct search and rescue. Li Jiezan and Consul General rushed to West Port overnight to coordinate the relevant rescue operations. As of 12 noon on the 23rd, a water dropper was successfully rescued, and a corpse of the victims was salvaged.

On September 23, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Wenbin, presided over a regular press conference that China was maintaining close communication with the Cambodian side, asking Cambodia to make full search and rescue, and to verify the relevant situation.
