Please see the 20th forward -looking series of "China Development" in South Africa.

The Communist Party of China will hold the 20th National Congress, which is a major historical significance in China's development. This year is also the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the African Union. Africa is accelerating the realization of industrialization, integration and modernization, and moves towards the goal of the African Union's 2063 agenda. Phoenix Satellite TV reporters interviewed Meng Dawei, director of the African-China Research Center of Johannesburg, South Africa, to explore the future development of China-Africa relations.

The story of Meng Dawei and China began many years ago. When he was still a child, he had a deep impression on China's always supporting South African anti -racial isolation struggle. When he grows up, he is engaged in academic research, and the field of research is mostly related to China. He has repeatedly visited China and has deep insights on the development and relationships of China and Africa. He often publishes articles about China, Africa, Central and South China and other topics in South Africa media, which has played an important role in deepening China -Africa exchanges.

David Monyae, associate professor of political and international relations at the University of Johannesburg, and director of the Non -Chinese Research Center:

I go to China more than 13 times, which allows me to understand the Chinese people, understand different regions, culture, and truly understand the entire Chinese civilization -Chinese civilization.

The many visits to China made him realize that although China and Africa are far away, there are actually many similarities in culturally.

David Monyae, associate professor of political and international relations at the University of Johannesburg, and director of the Non -Chinese Research Center:

I think it is the similarities what I am interested in. I mean, although we are different from Africans and the Chinese, we have more similarities. Culturally, the Chinese are centered on society. In South Africa, we call it the spirit of Ban Tu, that is, the spirit of care for the community.

The total population of China and Africa reached 2.7 billion, exceeding 1/3 of the world's total population, and the total economic volume accounted for about 21%of the world's total. The two parties take the achievement of the results of the China -Africa Cooperation Forum Meeting as an opportunity, continue to expand the field of cooperation, and jointly build the “Belt and Road” in China and Africa, promote the global development initiative and the global security initiative with the African Union, 2063, and the African Mainland Free Trade. The district construction and the development strategies of Africa countries are closely connected. Meng Dawei believes that China Africa's cooperation and exchanges in different fields is very important.

David Monyae, associate professor of political and international relations at the University of Johannesburg, and director of the Non -Chinese Research Center:

I think this kind of interaction is different levels. Civil society between the government, enterprises, students, and people is enriching and strengthening the bonds of the two peoples.

Meng Dawei pointed out that China's poverty reduction achievements have an important enlightenment role in other developing countries, allowing people to get rid of poverty and become the core course for African people to learn from China.

David Monyae, associate professor of political and international relations at the University of Johannesburg, and director of the Non -Chinese Research Center:

The core of the African people learned from China is to get rid of poverty through agriculture. I think the initiative is important to African countries. However, these measures are still in the early stage. I think that over time, we will see Africa's achievements in this area.
