According to the "Announcement on the Relevant Policy Relevant Policies for New Energy Vehicle Exempted Vehicle Purchase Tax" issued in April 2020, from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022, the purchase of new energy vehicles purchased for new energy vehicles is exempt from vehicle purchase tax. New energy vehicles exempt from vehicle purchase tax refer to pure electric vehicles, plug -in hybrid (including extended process) cars and fuel cell vehicles.

The policy was implemented in 2014 and was originally planned to expire at the end of 2017. Subsequently, due to the positive market response, in order to further stimulate the consumption of new energy vehicles, the relevant departments issued the "Announcement on the Promotional Policies on Continued Vehicle Purchase Tax Tax", which continued the policy until the end of 2020; Energy vehicle exemption tax policies have been extended for two years to the end of this year.

With the help of policy, China has become an important force leading the global automotive industry's transformation and upgrading. According to data from the China Automobile Association, in 2014, China's new energy vehicle sales were only 75,000; in 2021, this number exceeded 3.5 million.
