Studies estimate that if you sleep well, cardiovascular diseases can be prevented.

Research on sleep and heart disease in the past usually concentrated on a sleep habit, such as sleeping or sleep apnea.

In addition, previous studies usually evaluate sleep at the baseline level. The new study uses a healthy sleep scoring system that combines 5 sleep habits.

The researchers investigated the relationship between the baseline sleep scores, the change of the sleep score over time, and the relationship between cardiovascular disease.

The study includes 7,200 participants in Paris forward -looking research III (PPP3). PPP3 is a community -based forward -looking queue study. From 2008 to 2011, he recruited participants who were aged 50 to 75 years old and had no cardiovascular disease.

Their average age is 59.7 years old and 62%are men. The participants received a medical examination and filled out questionnaires about lifestyle, personal and family history, and medical conditions.

Questionnaires are used to collect information about the baseline and 5 sleep habits during the two follow -up. If the best, each factor is 1 point, if it is not good, it scores 0 points.

The calculated health scoring range is 0 to 5, 0, or 1, and 5 is considered the best.

The person with the highest score reports to sleep for 7 to 8 hours a night, never or rarely insomnia, there is no frequent daytime lethargy, sleep apnea, and early wake -up. Researchers check heart disease and stroke incidents every two years for a total of 10 years.

At the baseline, 10%of participants have the best sleep score, and 8%of participants have poor sleep scores.

In the middle of 8 years, 274 participants experienced heart disease or stroke.

Researchers analyzed sleep scores and cardiovascular events after the history of age, drinking, occupation, smoking, weight index, physical activity, cholesterol level, diabetes and heart disease, stroke or sudden heart -derived family history, Agreement.

They found that every time the baseline rose 1 point, the risk of heart disease and stroke would decrease by 22%.
