At 12:52 on September 5th, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred in Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan (29.59 degrees north latitude, 102.08 degrees east longitude), and the depth of the earthquake was 16 kilometers.

After the earthquake, the Ministry of Emergency Department of Natural Disaster Engineering Rescue Center (China Anneng) immediately initiated the emergency response mechanism of rescue disaster relief, and was put into emergency professional forces to participate in the earthquake rescue and rescue task.
