At 12:52 on the 5th, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred in Luding County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. While dispatched the working group, the Ministry of Water Resources organized the Ministry of Water Resources Information Center and the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Sciences to monitor and analyze the image map of the shaking area with satellite remote sensing, and to study and judge the dangerous situation of dammed lakes.

The person in charge said that the Ministry of Water Resources has issued a notice to the Sichuan Provincial Department of Water Resources, requiring to organize professional and technical forces to organize various types of water conservancy projects such as reservoirs (hydropower stations), dykes, Tangba, rural drinking water, and the possible dammed lakes. Wait for secondary disasters, carry out a network investigation and risk research, establish a list of earthquake damage water conservancy projects, implement emergency response measures one by one, and timely eliminate danger in time.

The Sichuan Provincial Department of Water Resources has initiated a secondary response to the earthquake resistance. According to preliminary statistics of the Ministry of Water Resources, there are 4 large reservoirs (hydropower stations), 1 medium -sized reservoir, 1,76 small reservoirs (hydropower stations) within 50 kilometers of the earthquake area, and 39 dikes. As of 14 o'clock on the 5th, no large water conservancy situation was received.
