What is Panlong Pillar? Panlong columns are actually a unique form of decorative decoration of ancient buildings. It is generally used in some high -level buildings, representing respect and majesty. It often becomes the focus of people's attention with its unique and vivid shapes.

Panlong pillars are not uncommon in ancient architectural decorations. The relics that are currently rich in Panlong pillars are rich in materials and quantities. But most of the Panlong pillars we can see today are stone sculpture plate dragon pillars. For the woodcarvan plate dragon pillar, due to the special nature of the wooden materials itself, the Panlong column before the Song Dynasty is durable. Strongest stone.

But fortunately, there is a more complete Song Dynasty woodcarving plate dragon in the Jinsi Museum, that is, the eight woodcarvings in front of the Master's Temple, which was carved in the two years of Song Yuanyou, that is, in 1087 AD, it has a history of more than 900 years. It is the earliest woodcarving plate dragon in my country. They are angry and vibrant. Although there are thousands of years, they still have scales and must be rooted. Its image carving is lifelike, and it must not help people to sigh with the good wood and the essence of craftsmanship, which has really become the unique orphan at home and abroad.

The eight Panlongs surrounded the eight pillars. The tigers are prestigious and eager to move. The names of eight Panlongs are different. The two pillars on the middle are called Yinglong, the dragon on the two pillars, and the two pillars on the two pillars are the dragon, and the hornless person on the side of the two pillars is called the dragon.

Eight dragons are exposed, muddy, and some tails want to attack, some fly up, some are like a rainbow. The eight dragons flew into the clouds and lived in the clouds. They were integrated with the texture of the eight gallery columns and crossed between the sky. In particular, the spirit that is independent of the heavens and the earth is the biggest difference between the image of the Tang and Song Dragons and the later period.

Although the eight woodcarving plate dragons have been nearly a thousand years, they still have clear texture. As described in the poem in such a woodcarving plate dragon, "Woodcarving Flying Dragon is like a hoe, the Chinese totem giant spirit god, leaning over the virgin, climbing the ancient temple to be born again."

In addition to the envious Panlong pillar of the Virgin Temple, and the adjacent Yuan Dynasty architecture Tang Shuyu Temple, there is also a very rare colorful plastic panel dragon pillar, which is the earliest mud sculpture plate dragon pillar. Two clay complications dragon in the Tang Shuyu Temple, which is based on the mud between heaven and earth, has even stimulated the creativity of the capable craftsmen. Compared with the woodcarving plate dragon of the Virgin Temple, the color of the colorful plastic panel dragon here is more healthy. The shape is even more exaggerated. These two mud -sculpture plate dragons, the claws, strong and powerful, fierce, and the momentum of the clouds.

The shape of the eight dragons not only plays an important role in architecture, but also has a very important reference value for future generations to study the Song Dynasty art dragon.
